No, I don't agree. Poland are the worst team BY FAR in this tournament according to both the FIFA rankings (which don't mean squat) and the ELO ratings. Additionally, the Greeks didn't lose a single game in qualification.
Now I have no idea what's going to happen on Friday morning but I can surely tell you that Poland wouldn't be here if it weren't for automatic qualification and they are the worst team in the tournament. We'll see how far home field gets them...it didn't do much for Austria (who also wouldn't have qualified without the automatic bid) or Switzerland in 2008.

Vanzack - appreciate your hard work and great write-ups.
Do you see any value in France to win Group D +165??
Yes. I think they win the group.

Thanks van. Also, I dont cap soccer at all. Just wanted to get your opinion on line movements.
Currently, my book has France at +140 and PK -155. How would you approach this? Wait or unload now?
Same with the Russia play today. With an over under of 2 (juiced to the under), it may make more sense to take Russia PK -135 than -1/2 +145.
Let me know your thoughts. Thanks again for your feedback.

Yeah - line movements on Intl games is very hard to figure. Obviously a very big move against Russia today - went from +120 to +150 overnight. You never know what is causing that - I just know from experience that it is very hard to predict and is not indicative of results. I remember in WC2010, it seemed every line moved against me - and I still did pretty well.
So yes - I agree with the Russia PK at -135 - I even added a little on at that line this morning too.
The France line happens to be one that I did think would move when I first looked at it about a month ago - so I started betting it. But your -155 line is pretty bad, you can still widely get -135 to -140. I explained earlier in the thread why I really like having this one on a PK - I really dont see England winning - but can see them playing very anit-football for a draw - so Im glad Im covered and am willing to pay a little extra to do so.

I have the option of taking the Asian handicap line of Russia which is pk, -1/2 goals -120
Whats the difference between that line and Russia -135?

That was an interesting half.
The Greeks shape at the back was just awful for the first 20 minuutes - a total zig zag line with acres of space.
And those yellow cards were questionable even as fouls - not sure either was even a foul.
Gotta get lucky in the 2nd....

And there it is. Now I have a feeling there will need to be 40 mins of defending to hold it at 1-1.

Take a look at PK -135. Also good.
