You lost this "argument" weeks ago already. KDB is the best midfielder in EPL and possibly Europe. His job is not to score goals, he's been out with injury quite a bit this season and still has 11 assists in the league alone, his football IQ is unbelievably high. His colleagues voted him PFA Player of the Year 2020 for a reason. Pep has already said he wants to tailor the team more around KDB in the years to come. 

City is re-negotiating his contract right now, his new annual salary would be 18 mil. euro, which is still a steal compared to what some are making. Last time you compared him to Foden, now to Lingard, either way, and I'm trying to be polite here, it's not even close. 

Oh and as far as a "false 9" goes, Pep is not using KDB like he used Messi earlier in the decade at Barca, a better example of a true false 9 would be Firmino at Liverpool. 

Have you ever just watched the two play??????  It’s the equivalent of a Lebron/Michael Jordan vs some guy who can dunk well in the nba.  I don’t profess to know that much about soccer—not as much as 90% of the people around here, but it’s obvious DeBruyne is otherworldly in all around game, especially in making teammates better.

I’m not saying lingaard is anywhere near KDB level. 

im just saying if you swap lingaard and KDb, man city is still on top of the table by plenty.

hh, if you knew anything about the sport, or followed it, or even UNDERSTAND the true value of a midfielder and what the head coaches/owners/higher-ups use as checkboxes to determine a players salary then youd understand why guys like DeBruy and others get the kind of contacts they have. and it has NOTHING to do with their ability to score goals.  there isnt a striker on this planet whom wants his OWN midfielder blasting shots from outside the box sunshine.  i just took a quick peek at EPL stats.... 10 of the top scorers in the league have MORE assists than Foden.

the saddest part about that list is that no juventus mids are even close ??. The days of pogba, pirlo, and Vidal are long gone. I suppose betancur has been our best mid this year but he had a whale of a mistake in the first leg
