Great day, Sweem. Anything on the plate for tomorrow?
Cheers Central ^^ A well needed sweep there after some annoying margins against. hmm. Kind of liking Colombia tomorrow but Ivory Coast are not to be overlooked, so no play there for me. Really liking England though, general feeling but no play for me there either because I just do not trust this English side to get the job done.
Japan is the only 'possible' play tomorrow against Greece, but I do not like to bet on that game because I have a future with Greece to score under 2.5 in the tournament and also Greece to score least goals in the tournament, which is why I am staying away. Japan's defense is not to be trusted either..
3 coinflip games, no touch - day off for me. I find it important to be selective, and not place bets just for the sake of it. I aim to end up in profit when World Cup is over, and that is why I have to be "boring" this time and wait for better games.. you know what they say, a good gambler should play disciplined ^^
Best of luck to yourself Central

My family is coming over to visit tomorrow, so thereof I will be on here occasionally but doubt I can provide writeups as regularely. Thereof, here comes my locked in thoughts and plays on a couple of games in the coming days!
Italy - Costa Rica: Pick: Costa Rica to score @ 1.92(1/10) The italians have a stellar defense but I like the element of surprise in this Costa Rican team who can play fluid, without pressure which is a role they thrive in. We saw their ability to move the ball well, and dare to keep it within the team to build up proper attacks without just forcing the long-cross in nomansland. Italy should not feel too safe here from a boosted Costa Rican team, I raise a warning for an upset here, do not expect Costa Rica to go down easy. _______________________ Switzerland - France: Pick: No Play Too much of a danger game to pick. We kind of know where we have France, but their odds are not something I feel is worth to wager on. Switzerland can match up physically and defensively with France, which makes this game a decider in the most efficient attack where France should have the edge, but not worth to gamble at 1.85 imo. _______________________ Honduras - Ecuador: Pick: No play Hard to judge both teams at the moment, generally I would say Ecuador to win, but the odds are ridiculous. I leaned towards an under-play, because neither of the offenses can be trusted. Ecuador have more individual skill, especially on the flanks. Keep in mind that Palacios is suspended for Honduras which should see Ecuador passing by the midfield easier and be the team dictating the goal scoring opportunity department. _______________________ Argentina - Iran: Pick: No play Too big of a favorite in order to find any valuable play. I guess we all know how this will end, confidently. Not sure about any handicap spreads, so staying away here. Iran are capable of keeping it close for about 30 minutes due to their very very defensive approach.
_______________________ Germany - Ghana: Pick: Germany -1.5 @ 1.97(2/10) Even if Ghana played well against the US, they revealed some obvious weaknesses defensively in particular. The German team will constantly put the Ghanese team to the test, and over 90 minutes I see Germanys scoring two or three times, it completely depends how their mood is. Regardless, this is a victory Germany needs to gain some breathing room ahead of the last USA game. Two goal margin is what attracts me here, because Germany will have up around 65% possession throughout the game, and with the ball - chances will appear, many enough to cover this spread. _______________________ Nigeria - Bosnia: Pick: Bosnia @ 1.95(2/10) As expected Nigeria participated in the most boring game of the World Cup vs Iran, and did not do much to impress. Despite some sharp names in the team, they were unable to wreck the Iran defense. Bosnia are a different kind of opponent, with more offensive and possession qualities than Iran, so Nigeria will see less of the ball than they did in the first game. Bosnia threatened Argentina several times and were not far away from getting a point, and despite the loss, the team earned a lot of respect. The odds are way off in my opinion, and anything above 1.70 is a great capture. _______________________ Belgium - Russia: Pick: Russia X2 @ 1.80(1/10) Both teams coming off struggling performances capacity wise, where Belgium had to fight for their lives to write off Algeria, and Russia had to repair a keeper mistake to "only" earn one point versus South Korea. The teams are better than what they accomplished in the first round, and when they square off against each other - a draw would fairly suit. Russia have a good defense and an offense that can harm Belgium, and vice versa..but Capello is a very organized coach, he does not put much effort into flair, but always wants his team to fight for 90 minutes no matter what it looks like. Belgium have a super team on paper, but they barely handled Algeria, and Russia are a different opponent I can see Belgium struggle with. Upset warning here.. Russia can pull something off, closer game than odds suggest. _______________________ South Korea - Algeria: Pick: No play Both teams escaped from good performances which makes this one "the coinflip of the coinflips" and I'd recommend to stay away from this one. Algeria with a very organized team can punish the Koreans, but Korea can use their flair and work ethic to put up a good fight. Overall this one is just too tough to lean any side. No play _______________________ USA - Portugal: Pick: Portugal @ 1.80(3/10) Huge over reaction, yes Portugal took a big beating from Germany but what did we learn from that? - Nothing at all. Truth is, the game said very little about Germany, and very little about Portugal as well. Coentrao's injury is bad news, Pepe's suspension is bad as well but this will not be a problem that suddenly gives USA a massive chance to win, and the odds movement is an overreaction. Let's face it, even a country like Honduras would have looked good against Portugal if they were rewarded a penalty early and moreover played with one man more for the rest of the game. In my humble opinion, USA should not be happy to see Portugal go down this big, because this will certainly trigger their abilities now and come out and take their revenge on USA being the victim wether it comes hard or easy doesn't matter, but 3 points go to Portugal here who are playing for their existence.. at 1.80, I sign up any day _______________________ Australia - Spain: Pick: No play Both are out already, meaningless battle. It probably means more to Australia who can just go out and enjoy the moment, while Spain would like to be back in Europe already without even playing this game. This is a good opportunity for an upset again, perhaps consider the +1 on Australia but I do not touch the game because it has lost its competitiveness for both sides. _______________________ Holland - Chile: Pick: Chile DnB @ 2.05(1/10) Two teams that have impressed the most so far in the tournament in my eyes, which makes this the best game in the group stage by far to me. Chile have a very disturbing way of playing against teams like Holland and Spain who likes to build their attacks from the defenders without hitting the cross ball. Chile are very aggressive all over the field to win the ball high up and covert that way. Massive support for the Chileans as well, they are really confident right now and I certainly think they can give Holland all they can handle .. and a little more, enough for the win. Thereof I fancy the Chilean team here in a hard fought battle, but well covered by the Draw No Bet option.

I just wanted to stop by to tell you that I agree with your assessment for tomorrow's game between Italy and Costa Rica. As you might already know, our top central defender, Barzagli, will be out and replaced by a struggling Bonucci. I sincerely hope that the return of Buffon in nets and Chiellini at his natural position as a central defender will help Bonucci feel at home. Like most people are saying at the moment in Italy, he can't do worst than Paletta did against England.
Cheers my friend and BOL

@Campobasso - I am glad to have the backing of an insightful Italian supporter like yourself :) Italy's defense is admirable, but quite slow..however with much experience, it usually compensates. I really liked Costa Rica's initiative to go forward with variety and I would not be surprised to see them score, perhaps even gain a point.Best of luck to your Italians mate, but please concede one ;)
@Tien - Very hard ones, although if I had to play today it would be Clombia, England and Japan. So.. would be a pretty mixed day. Days like these, I am glad I have stayed away and just enjoyed the games. @SunsDevils - Many thanks my friend! Many futures actually look interesting, Greece to score the fewest at 17.00 looks really on the go now when Australia have scored 3 in the tournament in total ^^ We will see how the futures summarizes themselves in the end. Many thanks for stopping by and good luck yourself. Incredible run by you!

England - Costa Rica: Pick: Costa Rica DnB @ 6.00 (1/10) With England's loss in mind, and the zero points they stand on, along with the small miracle they need to get through the group, it smells a bit like an unmotivated team.Over both the games I find England being the flop along with Spain from Europe. About England, they bring their ineffective "Premier League" style of game to a Tournament like this.. it just doesn't work to be just physical and play through the air that often.. not against technically better teams. Call me what you want, but I say Costa Rica are technically more gifted than England, they have everything to win and England should not be this superior. Motivation beats class more often than you think. With this in mind, 6.00 for the PK Costa Rica is massively valuable. Take this moment to remember what you thought when Costa Rica entered the pitch against Uruguay in the first round..given win for Uruguay right? - We ate those words pretty fast. Nothing is stupidity in this World Cup.

Smart bet Sweem. Today's game against Italy should offer even more insight.

@ Franz & SG - definitely, I do not see Costa Rica's first match being a fluke, I kind of saw a surprise coming, or at least - it didn't felt too unlikely. Love the massive drop of the odds.. speaks in our favor. Got some British friends I work with, who told me from the very beginning "If we lose the first two games, the value will be insane on Costa Rica, I reckon we will lose that one too" :-) as we have seen, nothing is ever impossible.

I had taken the draw in that game, but I was obviously cheering for an Italy win. So a loss really hurts
Barzagly finally started, but he played an awful game and even Bonucci might have been more useful with his long passes. Thiago Motta was dreadful and I really hope Verratti comes back next game. Balotelli missed his 2 chances, but overall all our offensive players played
poorly. I'm even more sad since we had witnissed Costa
Rica's amazing performance agsinst Uruguay. Today's loss reminded me of our against North Korea in 1966. Another sad day for an Italian football fan.

Sweem, great insight on Costa Rica, I for one, never saw it coming.
Well done, and good luck against England
Many Thanks Franz, was a nice win and moreover to have an accurate pre-match analyze and to witness the exceptional play by Costa Rica, massively impressed. A shame for Italy though who now find themselves in a risky spot. Hopefully Costa Rica can pull one more surprise vs England :)

Some sympathies with you today Campo, although I am glad with the Costa Rica bet. Did not recognise Italy today, slow passing, not very inspiring etc. Defensively they only had to work hard in first half, although second half they got some more control. Want to give CR lots of kudos for their performances, defensively and the ability to dare to possess the ball and pass it around without panic. Best of luck to Italy in the future, hope you can go through!

Portugal is a play with or without Ronaldo, as I believe they will step up big time and realize the pickle they are in - I know European teams have struggled so far, Italy/England/Spain to name a few, including Portugal's first performance. But it would be one of the greater disasters for Portuguese football if USA sent them home in the group already, I just do not see it happening - even without Ronaldo.
I believe Ronaldo will play though, even if he is not feeling 100%, because it is a do or die kind of game. BOL

Sweem, dumb question, but could you brief me on the Russia X2 bet?
Is it just draw no bet?
I also wanted to mention your discipline and how impressive it is. Definitely a lesson learned the hard way sometimes!
Not a dumb question at all, actually X2 in the pick means "double chance" (the pick wins in the event of a draw or a Russian win). The difference from Draw no bet is that you get the win instead of the stake returned even if the game ends up in a draw.
Many thanks for the compliment aside from the question, surely discipline is just as much an important factor as the "knowledge" and the studies of certain plays. You can possess massive knowledge, but if you aren't disciplined - you won't be successful in the long run. I understand the temptation of wanting to bet something on every single game during World Cup, but it is important to sometimes just sit and watch/enjoy and choose the plays with care. At least that is how I am reasoning. I guess it comes by learning the hard way, I can relate to it as well :)

Thank you. That's what I figured. I have -120 for the Russia X2 on Bovada which seems great. I'll roll with you on these.
