I dont think oil is the problem for any country in Europe, its gas that is the problem as many countries dont have facilities to handle liquid gas in huge amounts. Oil is "easy" to transport across the world while with gas you need pipelines to handle the needed amount for Europe atm. Norway provide UK with a huge amount and now soon Poland and the Baltic countries, but little elsewhere of the top of my head.. along with that we got those "green" political parties her that wont allow the govarment to increas the oil and gas production even though we got that possibility

 Hopefully many of those soon manage to see that something got to happend for at least a short term solution to start with and then when Europe produces enough energy themself, then we can think enviroment.. but by the way of some young people and ideologists here in Norway, up til now they havnt even been able to think about what Norway gonna live on if their wish of just cutting oil production became a reality... dried fish and salmon?
