One more thing: Vance Worley should be sent back down to the farm system! Maybe even AA! The dude IS flammable.
Phillies +108 Vance Worley: All of a sudden my 3-0 record with "Sweetie" has become 3-3 and my all time record is sub .500 again. If I lose tomorrow I will have gone 0-4 on the entire Memorial Day weekend and you can mark my words that another avatar change will be made!

That Phillies pick was over quick and it got ugly in a hurry. Lets see if we can end the weekend on a positive note. I'm not sure who I'm going with yet. I honestly haven't thought about it but I'm gonna pick a winner and get this party started right.

I got back in the win column yesterday with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Miguel Cabrera has hit already today to get me to 4 on BTS and BHS. I'm like Smooth; I don't know yet who I'm picking today on Survivor. I may go with AZ again. So far this holiday weekend I have a 2-1 record and would love to finish at 75%. Enjoy your holiday everyone and remember.

For Memorial Day: I will be throwing my lot in with the New York Yankees to beat the Oakland Athletics. I already liked this pick, but Chuck O'Brien's paid capper play (which I am posting next) cinched it for me. Does it get any more American than picking the Yankees on Memorial Day?Bronx Bombers +103 BOLA!

This is his complimentary play, not his paid play. Sorry about that, guys: CHUCK O'BRIEN COMP
Moving on to Monday’s complimentary baseball selection, go ahead and play the Yankees as they open a road series at Oakland.
A’s
right-hander Trevor Cahill (6-2, 2.02 ERA) is among the 10 best
pitchers in baseball (even if the casual fan doesn’t know it). Against
the Yankees, though, Cahill looks like someone who barely belongs in
Double-A. In his only two career starts against New York (both last
year), Cahill gave up 14 runs, 13 hits (four home runs) and three walks
in just 10 innings, losing 6-1 at home on July 6 and 11-5 at Yankee
Stadium on Aug. 30.
To put those two poor outings into
perspective, consider that since May 2010, Cahill has made 40 starts and
he’s allowed three earned runs or fewer 33 times. That means he’s been
roughed up on just seven occasions in the last 13 months, and the
Yankees got him twice.
Cahill hasn’t been at his best lately,
either. Although he’s got a 2.84 ERA in his last three starts, he still
allowed nine runs (six earned) on 21 hits and 9 walks (1.67 WHIP). And
the A’s lost all three games to the White Sox (4-3), Giants (2-1) and
Angels (4-1).
Finally, Bartolo Colon has been serviceable for the
Yankees, going 2-3 with 3.77 ERA overall and 1-1 with a 3.26 ERA in
four road starts (with New York going 3-1). And Colon loves pitching at
the Oakland Coliseum, where’s he’s 4-1 with a 2.73 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and
.191 batting-average against in six lifetime games (five starts).
New
York, which is coming of Sunday’s 7-1 rout of the Mariners to salvage a
game in that weekend series, also enters this series on a 40-18 roll
against the A’s, winning seven of the last eight meetings in Oakland. 4? N.Y. YANKEES

Congrats Quad! Cabrera got me to 7. My season high is 8 which i have hit twice. My last 3 streaks have been 8 twice and now 7 twice. If it was monthly contest I would have won. I think I'm 26 out of 30 for the month of May. Tomorrow I try to hit again and Wednesday go for my season high!

I like the way you think Bama with my Yankees! I decided on the Reds with their complete dominance of the Brewers lately and thats paying off. The game plan for me tomorrow since i'm here in the Bay Area is to go see my Yankees beat Oakland again. I would have caught them in Seattle if I would have been in Portland but hey I will take the Bay any day. Lets go Yankees!

@Bamabilly- Nice touch on the Avatar. These are the men and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. They should never be forgotten and should always be honored. Thank you for that Bama. God Bless America!

I'm going with AZ as they have surprisingly taken over 1st place in the West. The D-Backs have also won 7 in a row and I say they hit 8 in a row for my W2 against a tired Marlin team on a West Coast swing.

Don't you need to have an out-of-U.S. address to even qualify for the streak survivor prize giveaway? Read the league rules guys.. I'm moving to Canada like the rest of the U.S. poker players

Let's go Yankees! I hope you get to see them beat Oakland tonight, Smooth! They are worthy of a pick on Streak Survivor, but I went with Texas for tonight. Congrats on your Memorial Day win with the Reds. I managed to go 3-1 over the holiday weekend. Good luck tonight with Arizona ; they are red hot, but will face a challenge from Anibal Sanches. I like they way you are thinking about the Marlins being tired and this should be the difference. I think the Diamondbacks will win a close one by a score of like 5-2 or something.

You are welcome SmoothD20. I feel that it was a small thing that I could do to express my appreciation for those who are no longer with us that have sacrificed everything for our freedom. God bless their families and God bless America!
