As I am just a "prospect" here on Covers and new to the Professional Sports Handicapper's World, I don't expect any sort of following here whatsoever. Rather, my attempt is to post my work, continue to document, analyze, listen to comments, and improve my skills. Altho I possess great math skills, I certainly do not possess the talent to "show" my work, so to speak. Like in school, I always had a talent at looking at numbers and equations and figuring out the answer in my head, but lacked the ability to translate to paper how I "achieved" the result. Therefore, you will not find here long equations or mathematical reasoning in print, but be assured it plays a part in "my" plays.
I admire the thread ongoing by sports_Network and love reading it daily, even hourly, and encourage everyone who is trying to make a "business" out of this take an in-depth look at his documentation. It truly is the "right" way of doing this. For those who have jumped on-board there and are doing the calculations themselves now, congrats, I admire your dedication and "ability" to put those numbers down on paper. I, simply, apply a lot of the same measures in a different way. I read a ton about the games I choose and look at a lot of numbers, yet I solve my equations in my head. Paperwork is just not my thing.
I have been doing this since the 1st of May, when at that time I had been laid-off from my job in a management position for an electronics store. It was a surprising store-wide closeout, and it left a very bitter taste in my mouth about how it went down, still to today. I have dabbled in Sports "Gambling" over the past decade with messy results, never sustaining any real results. I have always wished I had more time to study the plays, and, well, now I do!
With a now greater understanding of how things "work", and with proper applied application, this is no longer considered "gambling" to me. To me, this is my Job, my Career, my Dream. As with any job, Dedication, Hard Work, Time and Effort, and an Understanding of Concept with what I am working with, can not - and will not - lead to anything but Achievement and Success.
I am giving myself one year to make this work. If anyone can do this, I know I can. This will now be my thread which I will update daily to the best of my ability. I welcome comments, questions, observations, critique and support. I believe we are all here to learn from each other and help each other advance to the "next" level, again and again. There is no "Top" to reach, just continued Heights.
I will not, however, entertain asinine comments like I see in other threads. Read the thread from the beginning, you will most likely find your answer.
I am currently running 4 "Systems" at this time, as well as Spot Plays. Two of these were created by myself, and two I have adopted from here. You will notice on the spreadsheets I have given credit to these people for creating that system, and I would like to thank them for coming up with them. So, Thank You tomspeople and prof8t.
All of these Systems started out in their pure form, I played them as they were laid out with no waver of their rules. Over the past 2+ months, I have used my increased knowledge to adapt these Systems and use them more as a "guideline" to assist in coming up with "good" plays. By using this "Risk Assessment" I hope to cut back on any losses. I have also started using Unit Management and am applying it's form in my plays. Thank You as well to sports_Network for introducing it's concept to me and how important it really is to increasing one's Bankroll. Bankroll, and Unit Management, are the most important things in surviving this Business. I am still learning this, as you will see in my spreadsheets, poor Unit and Bankroll Management led to a very ugly week leading into the MLB All-Star break, after a record plus the week prior.
I started this with a mere $500, extremely small compared to a recommended starting bankroll, and my Unit Size was $25. I follow mostly a "Chase" style of play for these Systems, so for such a small starting bankroll $25 was a "gutsy" call. I believed in what I was doing tho, and in the Systems I chose to follow at that point.
For those who say "Chase" style systems do not work and will not work.. To you I say, "Watch Me".. Those who have failed clearly did not understand what they were really doing and obviously learned nothing from past failure. I expect to have failures, and I will expect myself to have the ability to learn from them. Understand, Assess, and Solve. Moving on..
These spreadsheets are chalk full of commentary, mostly daily as it happens. To anyone who is bored silly, or justs wants to read a good "diary" so to speak of a "beginning" capper's daily ups and downs, I think you may find it a good read. I find myself often going back and re-reading past comments in an attempt to learn from past mistakes. Maybe you will find something useful in the pages. To most tho, I expect it will be skipped. Just understand so, that sometimes the commentary for today, is in reference to something which happened a few weeks ago.
Man.. looking up I see I have certainly wrote a lot here.. I tend to do that a lot as well, haha. Let's get to the spreadsheets..
