"It is very simple. We bet NHL road
teams when they go on road trips of at least 3 games. When the team
is the favorite, bet moneyline. When the team is the underdog, bet
puckline +1.5.
Make A bet, if it loses bet B so you
still profit, if it loses bet C so you still profit on the entire
series.
Using these filters should work for 09-10:
1.
don't play first series of season or last for any team
2.
don't play second series of 3 on any road trip
3. play +1.5
whenever available
4. eliminate teams with losing road
records once at least 25 games have been played. (At start of year,
could use road records from last season but that is iffy).
possible
5. do not play against top 2-3 RPI teams when they are at home"
Teams with losing road records:
Tampa Bay
NY Islanders
Toronto
Carolina
Dallas
Minnesota
Anaheim
Columbus
Edmonton
Current top RPI teams
Detroit
Buffalo
Nashville
1/28/09 plays
Minnesota and New York Islanders start 3 game road trip. Both of them have losing records on the road which is filter number 4.
No play today.
Betting system: Using 3 level labourche system
Game A 5-5-5-5
Game B 5-5-5-5
Game C 5-5-5-5
Thanks for the help and input on here. I look forward to following this through.

You could do this system just always taking the ML.
You will lose more games, but less money on those losses. And when you win, you can really get some nice odds to boost you.
There was a link posted on here weeks ago, where the dude is doing ML and PL. So far, the ML is ahead of the PL in units made.

Wanted to give this thread a bump.
I'm following this system. Had a "B" loss to open the season with Anaheim. Unsure if I want to lay a "C" bet, since the Ducks are rather horrid.
Thoughts?

Check the NHL schedule for 2010-2011. Mark down any series in which a team goes on the road for 3 straight games. For the team that's going on the road, bet on them in a 3-game chase. If they lose the first game, take them again in their second game. If they lose that, take them again in the third. If you lose the third, you lose the bet.
The "A" game would be the first game, the "B" game the second, and the "C" game the third.
ALWAYS take the +1.5 Puck Line if it's offered, which will mean your team is the underdog. Take the money line if your team is favored. Both will mean you'll be laying roughly -170 to -220 odds on a consistant basis. Sometimes less, sometimes more. Account for this when considering what your initial wagers will be. ALWAYS WAGER TO WIN, NOT TO RISK.
Never bet AGAINST the top 3 RPI rated teams, regardless if the system tells you to. Take this into consideration after about the first 10-15 games.
Never bet ON the bottom 3 road-record teams. Also take this into consideration after the first 10-15 games.
Never bet on the second road series of a 6-game trip (or more). Only do the first 3 games of that long road trip.
Some people use the Martingale style money-management system, and some use the Labourchere style money-management system. You can search the forums for a detailed explanation of each, as they're both quite easy to find here. I recommend the Labby, since it removes the risk of laying such high wagers. But the choice is yours, obviously.
Any more questions, just ask :)

Winners on: (A) Boston, (A) Florida
Pending on: (B) Atlanta (tomorrow), (A) Colorado (tonight)
Loss on: (B) Anaheim
Anaheim is currently losing 4-1 to St Louis as well, which would have been the (C) bet. However, Anaheim really shouldnt have been wagered on anyway, considering they were bottom 3 in road record for 09-10
Even if you count that as a loss, we're quite close to even money.
Atlanta will most likely still be missing their starting goalie, so I might pass on them for the "B" bet
09-10 record was something like:
Total plays: 147
"A" winners: 98
"B" winners: 43
"C" winners: 4
Losses: 2
Close to that anyway. Can't remember the exact numbers

SMDIO, keep this thread going. I like the A&B bet then quit idea. I've never bet on hockey, for the most part. I start tomorrow. B Bet on ATL? Maybe I will make it a C since I didn't play the A if they do not win.

mcmister - I'd love to see that, to be honest. Wish I knew how, and I'd create one. Hopefully someone helps us out
bettor2win - GL on Atlanta. Careful though, their starting goalie is out. Usually we avoid series when there are key injuries. I still think ATL will get us a win, as I'm taking them anyway. Just saying, be careful!
