On another note, you mention +149% (150 units) for going 99-1. That is our records over 3 years, the first of which we were using $5 as the starting unit, switching to $10 for last year and this. Even at $10 for all 3 years we are up 321 units. We are up 75 units so far this year.
Raising your unit size as your bankroll grows will have that effect. Just assuming that unit size remained the same.
Again, I'm not trying to change anything, something I noticed when I tweaked your system for soccer.
The math is simple, IF each bet saw odds of +280:

I just crunched a crapload of numbers. It seems as if the original posted MM system generates more profit the longer the chase but then tails off at leg 8, that is assuming odds remain the same throughout the entire chase.
If the odds of each leg decrease towards the end of the chase, MM system 1 will not perform well if chases drag on, while my suggested system will perform evenly throughout the chase. Of course, the amount of units I risk with my system "could" increase or decrease depending on what type of odds you get.
So with all that said, I guess it depends on the type of trader/bettor you are. If you'd like to keep things simple, the OP's MM is fine. If you are interested in having a little more control over your BR, my suggestion could help.
Sorry about the thread hijack and keep on posting Dan. Thank you!

TT I've crunched the numbers a while ago as well. I've been using the Stoffo system you talk about and have done well with it and got killed using it by setting my units to high and using favs. I now use it only with MLB and NHL dogs.
Using it with Dans picks the units risked can get pretty high. What I've been doing is playing Dans system the way he plays it. Then starting at game 5 start a small parlay chase using the same system you talked about. It gives me a little more profit without as much risk.

Thanks htz. Didn't realize it was one of Stoffo's systems. I just use it as a simple martingale system on complicated chases.
I'll start to track some of the current series and see how my MM compares to Dan's.
I also agree regarding not playing the first few legs of the chase. The payout seems much more profitable towards the end of the chase and the fact that you only risk 3-4 plays can allow you to play with higher stakes. Thanks.
And Dan, thanks again for posting tonight's picks!

TT the problem I see in the screenshot is when you win you get your bet back, that is if I'm reading it correctly the 8 th bet you will have $245 invested and received $370 for a $125 profit

No, here''s a breakdown of how it reads. On play 8 (last bet of series), your wager is $125 to win $350, but all of your bets together would cost you $370 (5, 10, 15, 25, 40, 60, 90, 125). Profit is -$20 IF your average odds were +280:
Bet 1) $5 to win a total of $14, profit $9
Bet 2) $10 to win a total of $28, profit 13 ($28 - $10 - $5)
and so on and so on
I was simply trying to breakdown an 8 leg bet with average odds of +280.

in all due respect, why don't you just start your own thread? Your whim has no bearing to this sysytem whatsoever, your math has no equative value (average odds +280) get serious, you're a disruptive force seeking unwelcomed attention that does not évén remotely pertain to this system ..share concept in this thread, or simpy start your own thread with your own system (you'ré way off the grid).

Wrong, your profit is $105 (21 units @ $5)
