I see that on the page it says try it for free. You guys arent seriously thinking about charging for this stuff are you? Considering there is already a ton of sites that offer this same type of product for free.

Hey cd329,
We are offering the beta product for free, so we can get feedback from everyone and see if it's something that everyone would like to see developed further.
Thanks for the feedback,

Does that mean that you are thinking about charging for it, or are you just looking to get feedback at this point?
Hey LongTermProfits,
We really need User feedback to see if Users like it and find value in it
We're not going to rule out charging for the product or having free pieces and paid pieces of the Stats engine, but at this point we need feedback. Our beta projects can go four different ways after launch.
1. We can discontinue 2. We can make it free (with limited features) 3. We can make the basic model free and offer additional paid features (build a better product) 4. We can charge for it
Trust us we know everyone likes option 2. We can dedicate staff to making a better product if we use option 3, but maybe everyone will like the simple product.
Cheers, Mr_C

what other sites offer this feature?? I mean being able to filter the different fields like the covers beta version offers???
Hey LongTermProfits,
We have no clue what sites CD329 is referring to. We looked around the market when we first decided to create The Stats Engine and saw some simple sorting options that were not very effective. We wanted to build something that was really useful for bettors.
We would like to know a site that has something that can stand up against The Stats Engine. CD329 what sites are you referring to?

I actually do prefer option 2, but without the "limited" features - feel free to go ahead and include all features on the free version - LOL
the only site I have seen that offers anything like this is stat fox and i think they run all the searches for you and just show you the results - I don't think you can actually set up the filters yourself - and of course they charge
love the beta version - it is a great tool to add to what i already use on your site for research - thanks for the great product - I hope it continues, whether free or for a fee

I know this is beta, but how far back does the data go or how far back can you go? I also think you should have RL price and moneyline price as part of the sorts in MLB. It looks pretty decent for a beta. Thanks.

I wrote in the baseball forum that I was planning to do a similar thing for the NBA season. But if Covers is going to do it, why waste my time writing a program I know I can get more info from this site?
I love this type of database.
If people remember years back when I found a "perfect trend" in the NBA when T'Wolves had alternative wins and losses (ATS) on the road against Pacific teams.
I think I played the last 11-12 occurrences and went perfect.
That trend went perfect during regular season.
You can find things like that to take advantage in your plays.

Very nice indeed for a beta.

nice. i ran all teams vs. LH & RH for the past month. it gave game by game results, but no total record. e.g. mets vs RH 11-10, LH 5-6. can it give the sum of results? ty
esp. like the xls export

I have been searching the internet for some time looking for such an engine and thinking it would be a good selling tool for someone (or website) to drive business (more hits). You know they have the stats and archive the data and, thus, I hate hearing a tout say something like "Boston is 6-10 on the road against LH" and thinking "why can I not find this information quickly and simply?".
I have been cutting/paste out of wagerline and building my own stats in Excel.
One recommendation would be to add the moneyline odds. Say I wanted to look up how the Tigers were as a favorite of -200 or more. Or as an underdog. You could even add the <, =. and > function. Like the tigers as a favorite between -130 and -150.
Still a nice tool to have!

Not to be picky, just looked up the Blue Jays RH/LH stats and noted some of the fields under RH/LH were empty (blank). Such as the 7/27-29 series vs the White Sox.
