I agree that Paolini is probably not 100%. I didn't watch it but they were heavy favorites in their doubles match and lost in straights with a bagel second set. The Italians never lose that bad which makes me think something is up. Jovic in straight sets at +700 is a real possibility.
And I could see Pots winning first set. It's really probably safer to take any of the underdogs without a bye for the first set rather than the full match because of being acclimated to the conditions.

So far (2 games) she doesn't seem to be moving well. And she's going for more winners than usual instead of extending rallies. Not moving well can be a disaster here, especially for a player who usually moves so well. I hope someone is coaching Jovic to keep Paolini on the move.

Someone please tell me how Paolini will have any chance against Cristian unless there is a very significant drop in her form. These last two matches are the best tennis I've ever seen her play.

That puts me in the black on the ML bets regardless of Kessler outcome and gives me winners on all three game spreads unless Kessler wins this set in a breaker and gets bageled set 3.

You are not wrong for thinking she didn't have a chance based on Merida because she was bad against Badosa. I watch nearly every match she plays and in most tournaments she is nowhere near the level she is at here. But every once in a while she plays a tournament and things just click and she's able to ride a confidence high. And she is a better clay court player so the conditions here suit her game better than most hard courts.
After I watched her against Kudermetova I knew she had a very good chance against Leylah. And Leylah played great too but Cristian was just so good. And Kudermetova didn't play bad at all either, there was just nothing she could do to counter Jackie and she got dominated.
If you don't have 3.5 hours to spare to watch the replay of this match watch the Kudermetova match or just one set of it and you'll see what I mean. I honestly think she makes it to the quarters here but you won't hear anybody talking about her until it actually happens.
She played great at Charleston last year and shortly after that the second day of Romania's BJK Cup tie against Ukraine was one of the most epic day of tennis I've ever seen.

Also I'm not one of those Paolini haters who somehow thinks it was a fluke that she accomplished one of the most impressive feats in tennis last year by making back to back slam finals. She's actually another one of my favorite players and been a fan since way before she became really good.
Don't sleep on Siniakova tomorrow either, another player that I follow very closely. Those are 3 of my top 4 or 5 favorite players so I follow all closely but try to only pull the trigger on them when the time is right. And for me the time is right for two of them.

I watched Paolini against Emma Navarro at the Miami Open last year and Emma looked like the better player. But it’s obvious Paolini is talented and her results show that.
For today, i agree that Siniakova could be the play. I’ve watched Muchova and i have not been impressed.
Yastremska has been very good to me but i don’t know against Iga, it seems that the IW conditions suit her very well.
and i’m intriged by the tauson vs Andreeva. Rematch of the final in Dubai. I could see Tauson beating Mirra.

Yep, all favorites so far won in straight sets and covered the spreads by a couple games or more. I went 2-1 today, losing Siniakova and winning with Kostyuk 2-0 and Kalinskaya/McNally ML.
Tomorrow there's no way I'm not taking Cristian ML. And it would be criminal not to at least consider backing Sakkari in some way given her past success here and the absolute Trainwreck of a match from Gauff yesterday.
Polina has looked good in both of her matches and made me a lot of money yesterday. Didn't see Kartal match but I've heard that BHM was just really bad. I seem to never win when I bet against the Kartal though.

I forgot about the most obvious play if it becomes available. Navarro ML if she's down a break in the third. Best strategy is to wait until literally the moment before you think to yourself, "well there's no way she's gonna win now". Then empty your whole account on it lol. I think she's 4-1 so far this year in this scenario.
She was such a mess after the US Open last year. Glad she has her head straightened out now. Her game looks really good on these courts.

I agree with you on Kasatkina. And it's hard to justify backing Sakkari this year. The argument for taking her today would be mostly about Gauff and Sakkari's history here and history against Gauff. But I'm not typically a huge fan of simply fading a player unless there are positive things on the other side to justify it. I'm still undecided on that but +5.5 can be had for reasonable juice or can be thrown in a parlay.

In my case, I’m leaning Keys. I was not sure how the long break (she didn’t play since wining AO) would affect her, but she was pretty good against Potapova. Plus, Mertens has not beaten a top-20 in the last year and something ( although se beat Keys in the US Open last year..).
