- Siniakova and Zhang both played very well and I feel like one of these two will win the tournament. But unfortunately they are in the same quarter so they could face off next round. Zhang's future is at +1000 and I'm thinking about throwing a bit on it. Also, these two are pairing up for doubles so you have the Chinese GOAT and the Doubles GOAT on the court together. Should be unstoppable as Zhang was a good doubles player even before she broke the losing streak (2024 US Open Runner Up).
- Jackie-Bronzi: Jackie has won all three previous encounters in straight sets, although two of them were on her preferred clay and the other grass. Jackie has played pretty well so far in Asia though and I'll be looking to back her tonight..
- Parry-Olga: Parry is probably the better player at this point in their careers but she is wildly inconsistent and the Asian swing has been pretty bad for her EXCEPT for getting three wins in a row in Osaka before falling to Susan Lamens. Olga is better on clay but she is kind of hot right now, coming off a W100 title on hard courts before a good straight sets win over Big Dreeva in the first round. I am liking Olga here. Fun fact: Olga's dad, former Euroleague and NBA shooting guard Sasha Danilovic, came to the US and went to high school in my town for a year in the late 80s where he was a basketball, track, and water polo star.
Japan edition coming soon

Looking lol, we know you are playing her. Odds on that -300. Sure, am tempted to play Bianca or at least the over.

- Leylah - Gracheva: Leylah has been inconsistent and mostly struggled since Cincinnati and in the matches that she has won she's been taken the distance. This includes her previous match against Sasnovich who retired down 2-5 in the third set due to illness. To put that in perspective, Sasnovich didn't even play in her second round qualifying match because she was too sick but she got the LL entry anyways. So she definitely wasn't 100% against Leylah. Gracheva has shown the ability to keep things close, like that epic set in Cincy she took off 2ga (Swiatek, her logo thing doesn't make as much sense with the 2 lol). I'm considering either taking the games or the over.
- Shnaider-Tomova: Tank, one of the most efficient money printers we've had this year, is riding a 3 match losing streak for the first time in 2024. She's already won 49 matches this year so some of her recent struggles can probably be attributed to fatigue as well as unlucky and difficult draws. I think this presents a good buy low opportunity though and her recent early exits should have her coming in fresh. She's heavily juiced at -4.5 so I might consider 2-0 instead.
- Sonmez -Ishii: Sonmez is running hot and full of confidence right now. She has a HUUUGE opportunity here to reach a QF at a 500. She's already up 25 spots in the live rankings and another win here should put her comfortably in the top 100 and give her career a significant boost going into next year with tournament draws and main draw entries into the slams. Young Ishii has a few decent wins and she did beat Tauson in quallies but I don't put too much stock in that for the same reasons I outlined yesterday for being high on Tauson. I'm really liking Sonmez -2.5.

Will Brooks Named Burlsworth Trophy Walk-On of the Week
He had the game-sealing interception. Not only that, during the first quarter he had that miracle shoestring tackle on the Milroe QB sneak which likely saved a 70+ yard TD. Bama ended up punting on that drive instead. PFF graded him as the best defender in the game. He also had that long pick 6 against NC State.
Earned a starting spot in his 5th year after walking on during the Pruitt era with ZERO major offers coming out of Vestavia Hills High School.
Thompson High School boasted the best quarterback and one of the best offenses in Alabama in the fall of 2018. But on a mid-October night in Trussville, Will Brooks twice intercepted Alabama commit Taulia Tagovailoa in the red zone as Vestavia Hills held the Warriors to their second lowest scoring output of the season and nearly upset one of the state’s top teams.
Long before Will Brooks was the back-end anchor of Tennessee’s best defense in two decades, he was flying under the radar and producing in the top classification of Alabama high school football. Here’s how a high school lacrosse All-American, zero-star football recruit that grew up 65 miles from the University of Alabama became the unlikely rock in Tennessee’s secondary.
“I think Will makes people around him better,” former Vestavia Hills defensive backs coach Todd Evans told RTI. “I think that’s his greatest attribute.”
...When Tennessee’s new staff arrived in January 2021, it didn’t take them long to notice the same things about their second-year safety that the Vestavia Hills staff noticed four years prior. Brooks was the first to understand concepts and answer questions as Tennessee installed its defense. “You knew right away,” Tennessee defensive backs coach Willie Martinez said on when he knew Brooks could play at the SEC level. “He immediately makes an impact as we go through practice, drill after drill, very consistent.”

It is like watching high school. Should not have wasted money on this no matter the result. Alright are we playing Over 20 in the Varvara Gracheva/ Leylah Fernandez match to start? Would you like to drive us tonight?

Over is good play too. I don't see Gracheva winning this match with less than 20 games so that's not much of a factor for me, it's more about the numbers and juice I have.

Yeah for me personally it's:
Gracheva +4.5 (+100)

@wgomel21 20 is a good number to have but I don't have exactly that. Here are my choices on Draftkings: O19.5 (-135) O20.5 (-105) +4.5 games (+100) I'm definitely playing one of these. I like the 19.5 and 4.5 better than 20.5 for sure. I might end up just skipping the juice and go +4.5.
Your call, riding shotgun. Later agree with Zeynep Sonmez -2.5 games and of course going to do something with Bianca.

Tonight is one of those times when I almost want to play all my leans. I've hit every WTA play last 24hrs. Started large last night with Kessler (skipped Kenin). Fell asleep early then woke up and took Tauson spread early in the first set. Followed that with Siniakova spread and Zhang ML. Then this afternoon won game spreads on both Blinkova and Polina Kudermetova.

In a very comfortable position as well. There are some football games coming up that are tasty. Will be heading back to the sportsbook Friday morning so ready to fire.

@wgomel21 Draftkings has been emailing me about the grand opening of 'Gold Strike Sportsbook powered by Draftkings' on the 25th in Tunica
That is the one. So far, their biggest wager they have seen since the transfer over to DraftKings was a woman around 30 years old risked $110,000.00 to win $100,000 on Vandy +12 against Kentucky.

Nope. We will definitely miss him. He's from such humble beginnings, think of how much his life has changed over the past year. He definitely made the right move coming to play for Barnes. Whatever success he has in the NBA will likely in turn be highly correlated with the recruiting success we have here in the transfer portal era.
