IS THE NFL RIGGED? ***THINK ABOUT IT***

They are?  Gee, I thought they were on the U.S. hit list for jailing Jewish billionaires and NOT supporting Israel.  Well, if they do come I'm sure it will be as liberators and to protect the world from WMD. 

 

 

There would have to be league-wide collusion among NFL refs for them to be able to "fix" games imo.  Instant replay goes a long way to try and get close calls correct.  The players make waaaaaaay too much money to be bought as well.  And one call is usually not enough to change the complexion of a game imo.

 

Now... does the NFL give the refs an idea of whom would garner the most eyeballs ?  They don't have to, the refs know the NFL game better than anyone on these boards.

 

Fixes?  Maybe in college or roller derby gang... LMAO

so how do they do it, is there a secret smoky room where 12 of them meet, reps from the league, refs, coaches, gm's and vegas.  no names are used, stuff like "mr x, we need det to beat dallas so philly gets a home playoff game", "mr. z, i will just tell Romo to play like the player he really is", i picture it like the room in the star chamber with micheal douglass

Tens of thousands of players, tens of thousands of coaches, tens of thousands of executives.  I have never heard one of potentially hundreds of thousands associated with Pro Football in 40 years ever claim a game is rigged.  How the hell do you rig it?  How the hell do you keep it a secret?

 

Bill ROmanowski must have been a secret, covert NFL/GOVT player.  Funny he didn't mention that is his book or any time he is balling his eyes out on TV. 

 

One last thing, if you think the NFL is rigged then why the Jets wining?  If NE are the post 9/11 team of America and we are in the middle of a war then wouldn't we want them to carry the flag?

i do think a game is fixed from time to time...via officials most likely.

 

last year's super bowl could be a case in point. i've never gone back and had another look at it, but i felt very strongly that the seahawks got cheated that day.

 

this year, the saints were "given" a game or two early in the season and then later on when a playoff berth was assured had to give at least one back (i.e. redskins).

 

that's about as paranoid as i am willing to get.

 

not touching 9/11 except to say that if you will take the time to look into it, you'll be left with a lot more legitimate questions than legitimate answers. and it is a case where our government *shouldn't* have anything to hide, but they've resisted and thwarted investigation at every turn.

 

Based on my life experience I believe anything can be covered up easily.    But, the real issue should be proof.  Bad ref calls might just be bad ref calls.  Even if a player stepped forward or a ref stepped forward it is possible that they're mistaken or dillusional (sp?).  What is enough proof?  For some people sheer numbers will convince them that there is NO rigging or conspiracy.  And, that is fine and seems reasonable.  For me it just equals diddley squat because of my life experience.  Let me repeat the issue should be one of proof.  If the proof is that too many people would have to be involved, then that is fine and reasonable and even logical.  It equals zero proof to me.

 

Many many years ago I was telling my attorney about an upscale business that was basically selling cocaine out in the open.  He says to me don't be stupid.  You know how many people would have to be involved to keep that a secret and he logically explained that way too people would have to be involved and the whole shabang would come collapsing down before any real money could be made.  I was really impressed by his arguments because how many people can keep quiet?  I would think very few.  I didn't.  Yes, I didn't call the police or newspaper.  I did gossip because it impressed the hell out of me and it seemed like an interesting story to tell interesting people.  The attorney was an interesting person and I wanted to share an interesting tid bit I stumbled on.  And, I'd be shocked if many other people didn't gossip as well.  Bottom line, the attorney didn't believe me which wasn't important under the circumstances and I did understand his very logical arguments including:  Too many people ergo NO conspiracy. 

 

 

 

 

 

I have thought about this for years. Is the NFL rigged? Well I used to televise nfl games for years for a Network and I was in on some good info before it was made public. Example: that a QB was scratched last minute before books or the public found out. I have even been in locker rooms before games. I can't say that it is rigged. But betting on NFL and losing my fair share of games by back door covers and other situations i have also thought that maybe it is rigged.  With all my years of televising games I can honestly say that I don't think it is. But again when I lose a game when it shouldn't of happened I still wonder.                          Last week at work I was talking with someone who also uses covers. He is big on following Roberto Fiory. He in my opinion is one of the better handicappers on this site. Then all of a sudden he went on a cold streak.also he used to limit his picks to a few games. well a few weeks ago Roberto have more than a few selections and had a bad day. Well on Monday at work this guy says to me he thinks that because he was doing so well that the books{vegas} got to him and put him on his payroll. Talk about being paranoid. I told my friend he is nuts. What sportsbook in vegas would look at this site and put a good capper on the payroll to give out bogus selections. Well a week later i am in vegas at Treasure island and in the sportsbook were a stack of newspapers put out by covers. I didn't know that this site had their own publication and were giving it out in vegas. So maybe covers is rigged to. LOL. where will it all stop. It will stop when you stop betting. then you won't even think about games being rigged... Can you imagine that some of the cappers on this site working for books?? gl to all

Please give me a break.... Sports betting and coin tossing are very similar, you're trying to predit a random event that hasn't happened yet. The spread tries to compensate for stronger and weaker teams, but anything can happen when they play (fumbles, INT's, bad calls, etc). To think that it's fixed would mean that you're just on the wrong side of the bet, or is fixed for you when you win and against you when you lose? If every game was predictable, they would all be pushes and the favorite team would always win SU. Just like coin flipping, if you flip it 10 times shouldn't it 5 heads and 5 tails? Doesn't work that way, does it? Even this site will have articles with 5 reasons team A should win/cover followed by 5 reasons why team B should win/cover. Who's right? We bet on the game and something weird happens (tipped pass, bad call, hail mary, fumble converted for a score) and we lose money and say it's fixed. I don't think so. Random things happen. Do you say it's fixed when pick an underdog to cover or win and they are behind all game and then pull off the win or cover right at the end with a strange play?

 

You just have to remeber, IT'S NOT EASY, you have a choice, but it's not fixed. If it was easy the books would writing threads about how the public is cheating them out of their money.

I've been handicapping for over 20 years.  There is NO doubt that some games are "helped" along (fav/dog/over/under).  No doubt.

 

Even if I thought the NFL was 100% rigged, it may be the case that I would bet in much larger amounts.
