what makes a quarterback have a bad game ??? consent pressure, actually being sacked, good coverage, no success running the ball, having longer yardage 3rd downs to get.
manning was sacked 14 times fumbling 2 intercepted 9 times
brady was sacked 26 times fumbling 12 intercepted 12 times
i think theres another advantage for indy they can protect manning better allowing him to pick apart the defense. also they have a good chance of winning or atleast being even in the turnover battle which is always a huge + to winning games.

another point about these teams and this game.

TOM CURTIS GREAT THREAD, YOUVE MADE SOME REALLY GOOD POINTS THROUGHOUT.THE
PATS O LINE HAS BEEN PLAYING THERE ASSES OFF SO FAR THIS PLAYOFFS, AND I BELIEVE THEY WILL HAVE A GOOD GAME PLAN IN PLACE TO SLOW DOWN MATHIS + FREENEY.IMO
WHO EVER WINS THE TIME OF POSSESION BATTLE WILL WIN THE GAME. IT COULD COME DOWN TO THE ROOKIE KICKER,KICKING A 48 YARDER 4 THE WIN.

Do you have any thoughts on line movement as the week progresses? Seems people are on Indy now (Bodog has -3, -120 juice), but i would seem that will change as New England is usually a big public play. Any thoughts?
Thank you sir for your contributions this year and last.

Charles Barkley and Karl Malone were great, but they weren't better than Michael Jordan. He had the sickest combination of talent and desire I've ever seen. Bastard even scored 38 points on the Jazz in '97 when he was on death's door (Game 5).
great perfomance ione of the best of all time.thats why Kobe can't hold his jock strap. His mental makeup is no where near MJ.

As someone who's been tracking Mr. B's picks for a little while now (and been amazed at just how dead on his observations have been), I thought I would throw my two cents into this debate.
I think the only thing holding people back from backing the Colts in this game is the Brady/Belichick mystique-- everybody seems to think that Belichick has some magical formula for beating the Colts hidden up his a-hole, and has been waiting for this week to pull it out. Looking at a similar situation from recent history, I believe this line of thinking is a mistake.
For example, didn't most of us think that Phil Jackson had those same "magical powers" a couple years back? Didn't most of us believe that after Derek Fisher hit that winning shot against the Spurs that winning the championship would be just a mere formality for them, ignoring the fact that this was not the same Laker team from years past? We now know of course, after they were steamrolled by the Pistons, that this was obviously not true. Phil Jackson does not have magical powers.
And neither does Bill Belichick.
As important as coaching is, the better team usually prevails, and this should again be the case this Sunday.
On a side note, before this November's elections, I was telling people that the Democrats were the "Indianapolis Colts of politics," and that they would find some way to screw it all up and lose the election despite optimal circumstances. We all know how that turned out, and now we know that Karl Rove does not possess magical powers as well. So let me turn what I said around and say that the Indianapolis Colts are the "Democrats of pro football." Colts 34, Patriots 21.

The Pats have won five straight, eight of their last nine,
are 8-1 on the road and are 14-4 this year.
What, exactly, is your definition of dominant?
Scrappy teams are 10-8, not fourteen and four.
The first year they won the Super Bowl, the Pats had more losses than this season.
You also employ the same strategy as Mr. B, every bad thing about Manning
you blow off, every bad thing about Brady is the reason the Pats are going
to lose.
Logic just doesn't work that way.
March,
Thanks for the input, can't wait to Sunday!
C'mon man you are really struggling to make a weak point.
neither i nor bator has said anything like that. you are twisting things. i have laid down why i believe what i believe. i dont plan on either brady or manning having a bad game, i think both will play well, vey well. i have a small bet on Indy + over i think the score will be something like 38-31 38-28 for some reason i think indy scores 38
as for dominate. i think i watched that dominate team vs SD last week look pretty pathetic, THEY ARE NOT DOMINATE. they are scrappy with skilled veterans thats about it. SD domintaed that game thats what the whole country watched, they also watched SD make retarded penalties to keep NE in the game.
Indy can and will beat NE this week. that i am betting on. you can love brady and the pats of old all you want but if think they're the same or better now than you're very wrong.

If I know ANYTHING about sports betting, New England wins
this game outright.
Amazing how two very astute, very experienced gamblers can be on such diametrically opposite sides of this game. Mr. B. is extremely confident in the Colts, making them (possibly) the largest wager of the entire season and giving them a 95% probability of winning the game outright...and then Tom here, gambling on sports for 30 years and supporting himself with his gambling winnings for the last 14 years, making a statement like the one above!
What's a rank amateur like myself supposed to do??
Hmmm, pass?

I have been following Bator's picks for awhile, and agree he has been hot. However, he has been expressing his desire to fade the Chargers since week 14, and I think he has substituted the Pats for his Chargers, and stuck with his fade.
Also, he stated Indy would win the AFC before the Pats-Chargers game kicked off. The sub-par play of both teams strengthened his pick of Indy.
One last point: There is a lot of talk about how Brady will not have 2 bad games in a row. The same should be said of Manning. He is back home, in the dome, where he feels most comfortable.
Great thread. I'm leaning towards a small play on Indy.

If you think history is to repeat itself, no brainer - Pats no problem
Capping from past playoff history - Pats no problem
Banking on Manning to break out of his forever playoff slump minus 2 games and then Brady to have back to back somewhat bad games - Indy in a close game maybe.
Forgot about all the trends, this is more of gut feeling type of play because nothing says to take Indy in this game at all.
Enjoy to all as should be fun

This game is as simple as this.

vanzack....i found one that contradicts another trend....
on championship weekend when bator gets so drunk that he thinks he has to take a $hit and infact doesnt and then is forced to sit down to pee the home teams are 19-3.
From what i know Bator will be a sippin so this points heavily towards Indy and Chi
Thanks Slingzz, I was about to get mad after reading a few other angry posters threads, and you saved me there. I'm still laughing. Over the years of reading internet gambling chatrooms, I've never understood all the bashing and anger that some people exume time and time again. Maybe because I'm a leader, and not a follower, and have never followed someone blindly to the slaughterhouse, I dunno, I just don't get it. You would think more people would be having a good time with gambling, and the banter on here would be a little more lighthearted. CHRIST, if you tail someone, and they lose, fade them, and then thank them for their plays(like me this past weekend.) Either way, thanks for the belly laugh, and good luck everyone with their plays.(especially colts backers) pats or no pats, I'm not fading a good dome team, that doesn''t lose at home(like MR.B said, in the franchises' biggest game ever). I'm a firm believer in my own opinion of the colts " AS Bob Sanders goes so does their defense". The team wants to win this one for the coach as much as for Peyton. I respect ESPN for not pounding the unfortunate loss of the mans son last year. The colts are LY's Steelers

betcrimes, one of the 2 losses was to LY's superbowl champs. So in 3 years of home games, they lose one to the SB champs, and one other game(I'm thinking it would be SD. because I think they broke the perfect streak LY in wk. 15 @ INdy. as always, am too lazy to look it up
