Miami @ Portland - Line went from 3.5 to 4 to 2.5 now sitting at 3 on 5dimes despite the public liking Miami (currently 69%). This is exactly what Mavin said would happen. Public favors Miami to win but the line moves in the opposite direction. This tells me that the books might just think that Portland will win outright? Thoughts?

SOME KEY INJURY INFO FOR 2NITES GAMES
1    Aldridge (wrist) fully practiced Wednesday and is probable to play Thursday against Miami, CSN Northwest reports.
Spin: 
Aldridge missed Tuesday's practice, as he was undergoing X-rays and an MRI, the latter of which revealed a sprained right wrist. The ailment appears to be a minor one, so barring a setback, he'll take the court Thursday.

2   Thornton (ankle) practiced fully Tuesday and may play Thursday versus Dallas, Cowbell Kingdom reports. "I think he's going to be ready to go," stated coach Keith Smart. "All the restrictions were off on him today, so it was good. He got on the floor. We did some really nice work today."
Spin: 
Thornton's activity level in practice had been limited until Tuesday's drills, which has hurt his conditioning due to being sidelined since Dec. 30. If in fact he's able to suit up Thursday, his minutes load will likely be capped to ease him back into game action. Thursday's morning shootaround should give us the first indication whether he'll be able to take the court.

Hill (illness) did not participate in Thursday's shootaround, but he is listed as probable for Thursday's game against the Knicks.
Spin: 
Hill was forced to leave Tuesday's game in the fourth quarter due to bronchitis and also missed Wednesday's practice. While he looks likely to play Thursday, he may not be capable of playing the full 34.9 minutes he averages per game.

Not necessarily imo. The public number is gonna be lopsided in a heat contest in 90% of thier games.And Joe Public isn't concerned with the line move either because it's likely that he didn't even see it move. He just likes the heat no matter what.

The books know that a line move like this will automatically bring in extra blazer money cause the heat $$ is coming steadily reguardless of the line change.

Looks like maybe the "smart" money is the Blazers. The line has moved to +3 at bet365. I have no idea how to tell what money is "smart" but, I have always believed the public doesn't move a number. So, I'm guessing Mavin was ahead of the curve and got the Blazers at the bets number.

I have been having some tough luck with Mia- They had lost to Was and then beat them bad- I like the line at +1200 on a 4 teamer with Seahawks ML and (two open spots) for $50 as a lets see what happens- well that lost- then I went on Was thinking a repeat of how they beat the heat this time the very next day at OKC the line was not as generous at +800 and the over 194.00 with two open spots- the open spots I am saving for the NFL over the weekend- try to create more open spot parlays and I am thinking to go with MIA and NY today on the money line for MIA and Spread on NY - with a small bet on port to hedge during live betting if needed

i dont know about Indiana, remember when Marvin told us about the teams in the first game without their star player, the role players put an extra effort, Celtics without Rondo against the Knicks, i think the Knicks have a good chance to cover tonight.
But im going to stay away of this game.
