roi_fisher - the Clippers have the game circled? They want to show who's best in LA? Little too romantic for a flourishing entertainment business called NBA, don't you think? The game is at the Staples Arena where the Lakers also play and in the last game this season the Clippers have already won. If there's anyone with this game circled and the desire tying the season series - those are the Lakers.
Turbovtk - no take as of yet. GL
Thanks for responding Marvin.
Aside from my solo picks I like to do about 3-5 $1-5 parlays that net at least $200 if they hit- I have hit a few in november (some 12 teasers and 10 teams) in December a few 5 and 6 teamers- none so far this new year. Here is one that I have and seem to agree with reading some of the posts here.
Packers -5.5
Texas AM -165
Alabama -360
Brooklyn -3.5
Atlanta -.5
Miami -315
Houston +2
Lakers +6.5
Lakers U207.5
Golden State V. Clippers O 200.5
$5 for $465
I don't think you are a parlay guy but let me know what you think.
Do you like doing open spots parlay teasers?

I wish you a good luck. Not that I'm not a parlay kind of a person - our philosophies regarding the way of investing our time and money to earn are different. You might get lucky here and there hitting that kind of parlays - but you would not be able to depend on it for your living or as a steady additional source of monthly income. And this thread and the time I invest (which is very precious for me) worth more than trying to get lucky occasionally. But in no way I dismiss your effort. I just don't agree that there is a strategy behind that pick. GL

BTW Marvin I need to figure out how to get more conviction on my picks when I do parlays about 8 out of 10 times I hit 80-90% of the picks is that normal or am I running unlucky, how would you analyze prior picks to determine how to lower about amount of picks?

I completely agree with your statement... however my big money picks are based on research. I do however like to gamble and do what I call side bets by parlaying a few bucks here and there.
My pick on Oregon yesterday was just based on prior results and speed vs. brute force I will always take speed I think the NFL is catching on to that also- play fast enough against the big guys and they will get tired. I also am a fan of Baylor and saw that them beating KS was not a fluke as they went on two win two more games one in OT and one in a very convincing fashion on the bowl. Everyone kept hanging their hat on how Oregon only scored 14 against Stanford not realizing that they made many mental mistakes.
Todays pick on T A&M am not 100% sure because the line is so low but over thanksgiving the sooners had a big late game win although I think that A&M if not by a few mistakes could have been undefeated this season- I took the money line on the Alabama Game so far my best pick to date on a single bet.

I'm surprised to hear that you're on the Lakers as I think the Clippers are the smart play for tonight... Though it should be a good game nonetheless.
I lost $150 on the clippers one on a $50 parlay of clippers -1 and over 202 (the over hit) and $100 on the second half over 100 (missed by 2 points unreal)
I think the clippers are streaky and they need a close game and then a win to snap out of it. I could be wrong but I think the lakers make it close- if the lakers had won the first go round between this two I might pick the clippers.

The line opened at Raptors -7 and didn't change despite 3out of every 5 bettors being on the Raptors. The totals line opened at 197.5 and is still 197.5 despite the vast majority of the bettors being on Over. The only game this season in Sacto has ended in the Kings win 107-100.
Let us see what happened in an immediate past of the teams. Both are playing better than expected while the Raptors enjoying the fruits of Portland hangover after beating the Knicks. Sacto is suddenly winning away game in Cleveland. Would I trust the raptors here to cover the line? No, Would I play the Under as the line didn't change despite the Over support? No. I'd wait till the HT and see if the teams overshoot the first half totals line - I might jump in with Under on a second half.

Ok, here are tonight's games from my perspective:

I didn't see anything in the Clippers/Lakers game to make a definitive judgment on either side other than the fact that the Lakers have put together a nice little win streak and the Clippers are starting to drop games. Offensively and defensively the numbers do look close though, but not definitive enough for me to make a play.
I'd still like to hear your analysis on what I've missed.

Mavin my friend, I'm curious to know your thoughts on the Houston game tonight? I'm thinking of rolling with Houston but the line seems a little too good to be true... Thoughts?

melosjumper do you reckon the raptors soft schedule has played a large part in their recent run or you see them as being truly a mid-pack competitive team in the east??i just cant understand their success with that roster.counting in their favour is kings 3rd game in 4 nites and the continued absence of thornton and tyreke plus raptors are absolutely locking teams down since a renewed emphasis on defense a cupple weeks back.......but still sumthing makes me uneasy about a -7.0 cover,im not sure why.
wat is it about toronto that recommends you to back them??cheers man

Pinnacle had the LAL/LAC total set at /OverUnder 205.5 +100/-110 for hours without a single line movement, but it just climbed to 207. Just had to jump on it!

I think NBA should demote those teams to CBA or something. No picks for me and no capping for those teams.
Washington - Brooklyn
I know I played Over 185 on this game. I know the line has been dropping since. I know I am not as good on totals as on ATS. I know some of you have a doubt in that outcome. I know the bet has become what I hate the most - risky and has transformed into gambling more than betting. So? What do i do in this or the similar cases when we pull the trigger to soon and then have our doubts? Do we hedge at the noticeable price of juice? Do we just ignore all the signs and go with it? Do we hang on a hope that 8 out of 12 Washington games at home have gone Over? Or the fact that the Nets are playing much faster basketball away from home under a new management although they only played one such game and that was against the Thunder? Do we hedge playing Under 183 and risk losing both bets in case it ends at 184 points and all this because we were too stingy to pay the juice?
Ha Ha Ha. Here's what we do - we tease Under 190 with another high probability totals bet. We have an Under 205.5 at the Staples Center and the line is now 206.5 - another possible mistakenly read scenario (you will have a quite few like those generally), so why not to tease Over 199.5? Or Over 206.5 in Milwaukee? Or Under 196.5 in Miami?
I will wait for other side of that bet and finalize it. Case closed!
Now about the sides.
This is a very popular bet the whole world pounding the Nets after their win in OKC. Now, how many of you think that the Brooklyn Nets are as strong of a team or a team on a momentum that was really stronger than the Thunder?
Since I don't believe for a second that the Nets are as strong as that - I'm not putting my money on them here. may be after a HT. And may be I will play the Wizards first half. I dont trust Deron Williams. Period.

He said he was going to go thur each one, Fuzzrod. He just did Raptors and Kings and he's probably working on posting the next one as you all hit him with questions! Give him some beathing space!

No take on that game. Line is very strange and has been travelling to both sides throughout the day. Just don't feel like I can trust the teams that manufactured artificial double OT game just a few days ago in Atlanta. No totals play for me neither. Don't see no value here at all.
Miami - Chicago
I like Chicago here in the first half as Miami is always toying with the teams in a first half. And since the line has dropped from -9 to -7 but I do not see Miami winning the first half and then Chicago pounding the second - I will take Chicago in the first. No totals play for me here.
