Usually, the way most people do it is to bet to win one unit.  The unit is whatever you want it to be, $10, $20, $50, etc.  If the A game loses, you bet to win whatever you lost on the A game + one unit.  If the B games loses, Your C bet would be to win the total of your A and B losses + one unit, and so on.

bart,thank you for all of the contributions you make to jeff the hat threads,most helpful!!

just wondering about unit sizing for a 4-game chase approach,seems like 1% is definitely too high in my opinion...i assume you base on winning 1% on A bet's???...because if so then a series loss on D is likely to cost around 38 units,or 38% of bankroll,right??.....so,if worst-case scenario wud occur and 2 series losses happen in the first week or so(which is highly possible if we are projected to expect one per 12 days),then that is a 76% reduction in bankroll,not counting wins.and would leave sumone too depleted perhaps to want to carry on or hesitant to at the very least.remembering that a large volume of series are played at any one time so reserves must be available in terms of bankroll......i would have thought that 0.5 or 0.75% at absolute most would be more appropriate but this is just my gut feel.its all fine if a hot start occurs and roll is built up strait away of course but one must be prepared for the worst so they are able to endure it.

OK,.... here is an example @ $10.00 a series, if it goes the 6 chases, @ average 1.50.   1. 10-   15

                                            2. 25-  37.50

                                            3. 62.50- 93.75

                                            4. 156.25- 234.38

                                            5. 390.63- 585.95

                                            6. 976.58- 1464.87

So the total loss for a six game series will cost you.... $2,431.45 @ an average $1.50 cost.

So in brief, you are wagering $2,431.45 to win $10., if by chance the series loses.

 Just an FYI.... if you plan on playing the system, crunch your numbers to find the series amount you wish to win... you will have to have a nice roll to support this system.

1 loss will be crucial.

Be careful if you up your series win amount , if the system get's on a roll, to be able to play through the 4,5,6, games.

Pick a system, this will happen being 4 systems in play. They can both win. Remember CHC is the rotation system and St.L is G.S.E system.

No, 6 game chase. Read more about it in the systems and strategies forum. A lot of info on it in that forum.

Melos, I'm going to try replying from my phone so my numbers may not be 100% accurate, but I think you will understand my points below.

I would also like to point out that this is not the way Jeff designed the system, this is an alternate way to play it if you want to limit your risk.

This system averages 738 plays per year and wins 98.4% in the first 4 games.
Assuming 5 months of playing time, that is 5 wins per day.
That means that in a 2 week period, we win 69 out of 70 series'. And we lose 1 series every other week for 38 units.
So within a 2 week window, you are still +31 units.

To break it down even further; to take the a loss it will take minimum of 4 days, but within those 4 days you have already won 20 units on the other games. Meaning in that 4 day window where a team lost games A-D you are actually -18u. This happens on average of 12 times per year. At worst, if you have 2 series' losing at the same time, you will be down about 40% because your wins from the 5 other games that day will keep your bankroll up.

And just to be clear. When I talk about % of bankroll as a unit size. I mean the initial bankroll. I do not believe in increasing your unit size mid way through a chase.

cool,cheers bart...i fully understand your viewpoint.you make salient points if the win-rate continues as expected....also i realise it is designed for 6-game chase but to me that is absolute gambling suicide,my heart cudnt take it,haha...obviously playing that way reduces your unit size hugely as you mentioned already and,considering the epic run its had thus far probability suggests it is well,well over-due 2 suffer F loss......but good luck to all those that chase that far!!!
it is just my conservative nature then i guess but i still wud stick with 0.5% on 4 game chase to prepare for the worst.
