LIV Golf returns this week at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the final tune-up ahead of next week's PGA Championship at Oak Hill.

All eyes are on Talor Gooch this week for a multitude of reasons: he's won the last two LIV events in Adelaide and Singapore, he's making his debut this week as a solo betting favorite, but more importantly, he controversially can't play the PGA Championship next week due to a slight tweak in eligibility regulations.

We break down his odds and more in our full LIV Golf Tulsa betting preview below, including outright odds, free golf betting picks, and more.

LIV Golf Tulsa picks and predictions

Talor Gooch (+1,000 – 0.5 units)

The squarest and chalkiest option on the board, we're going to take a shot on Talor Gooch to secure a third consecutive victory as he continues to dominate the LIV circuit. One of the hottest golfers in the world — regardless of tour — at the moment, plenty of controversy follows Gooch to his home state of Oklahoma.

Despite meeting past qualifications, he was not invited to partake in next week’s PGA Championship, which has caused quite a stir in the golf world as the USGA essentially wrote new rules this season that would limit LIV golfers from partaking in the major championship. For those interested, here is a link to the full story.

If that doesn't ignite a fire under LIV’s top golfer, I do not know what would. However, an extra chip is not even necessary for Gooch, who is currently playing the best golf of his professional career.

Not only is Gooch riding a two-tournament win streak, but he now leads the circuit in average strokes per round and returns to his home state at a course that should benefit his play style. In his last season on Tour, he finished 16th in greens in regulation percentage and 69th in driving accuracy.

Sergio Garcia (+2,500 – 0.3 units)

Captain of Fireballs GC, Sergio Garcia rides plenty of momentum into this week’s event in Tulsa. Finishing runner-up to Gooch in last week’s event in Singapore, Garcia has now posted two Top-10 finishes over the past four events.

In Singapore, he finished first among all golfers in GIR% at a whopping 88.9%. Accuracy is typically not an issue for Garcia, a former Masters champion.

In his last season on Tour, he finished 11th in GIR% while posting a driving accuracy percentage north of 61%. One of the most consistent performers on the LIV circuit, Garcia currently ranks in the Top 10 in average strokes per round this year.

Louis Oosthuizen (+4,000 – 0.2 units)

One of the bigger signings upon LIV’s inception, Louis Oosthuizen has never really put things together since hopping over to this rival tour. While he posted four Top-10 finishes over his first five tournaments in 2022, he failed to crack the Top 5 until his fourth-place finish at this year’s LIV Golf Tucson event.

Since then, Oosthuizen has failed to break the Top 15 in each of his past three events. With that said, now is the time to buy low on the South African. Distance is typically the main issue for Oosthuizen, something that could be minimized in this week’s event at a 7,213-yard course.

Cedar Ridge rewards accuracy far more than distance, which is good news for Oosthuizen. In Singapore, he finished first in driving accuracy as he hit fairways at nearly a 79% clip.

That hot driver could carry over into Tulsa, which would give him a leg-up this week. In his last season on Tour, he finished inside the Top 67 in both GIR% and driving accuracy.

LIV Golf Tulsa field and favorites

The era of Dustin Johnson, Cam Smith, and Joaquin Niemann at the top of the betting board is over — at least for now — with Oklahoma native Talor Gooch topping the LIV board in Tulsa for the first time.

He's coming off a masterclass performance in Adelaide (closed +2,500) and a playoff win over Sergio Garcia in Singapore (+1,600) and is being rewarded with betting favorite status in Tulsa at 10/1 odds.

Those household names aren't far behind, though, with Brooks Koepka, Cam, DJ, Niemann, and Patrick Reed all available at 16/1 or better. You can expect their best stuff as the second major of the season looms.

Cedar Ridge Country Club notes

Cedar Ridge Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma is a Par-70, 7,213-yard track designed by Joe Finger. While nobody in this field has played this course at a professional level, it is routinely utilized on the LPGA Tour.

A parkland-style layout, Cedar Ridge’s fairways are lined with trees while the greens are protected by hazards scattered throughout the course.

Accuracy is key here, and the two most important metrics to look at for this track include greens in regulation percentage (GIR%) and driving accuracy. This tournament is LIV Golf’s first appearance in Oklahoma.
