Sporttrade is partnered with the Quechan Indian tribe of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation and takes over the license previously held by Unibet, which exited the U.S. market in June.
"Today we're incredibly proud to announce we've launched in Arizona," Alex Kane, Sporttrade founder and CEO, said in a release. "There is impressive demand for our offering in Arizona because players want a premium option.”
Sporttrade, which also operates in New Jersey, Iowa, and Colorado, is offering new players in Arizona 10% cash back on bets up to $300 during their first week.
Target audience
The online sportsbook promotes “stellar prices, huge limits” on its site, and offers customers “proprietary technology, thoughtful design, and capital markets expertise, our platform endeavors to modernize sports betting for a more equitable, responsible, and accessible future.”
Sporttrade targets bettors who have turned to unregulated, offshore sportsbooks because they’ve been limited by other legal shops.
“Sporttrade is a perfect option for players looking to try the future of in-game wagering; incredible prices, near-instant bet acceptance, and the option to view prices in an intuitive probability-based odds format,” Kane said.
Market shifts
Sporttrade joins a competitive Arizona sports betting market that’s undergone many changes. WynnBet, SuperBook, and SaharaBet also exited the Grand Canyon State during the summer.
Betfred announced last week that it stopped taking new customers and wagers. The online operator will cease all operations in Arizona on Nov. 4.
Plannatech, the technology platform for operator Prime Sports, received WynnBet’s license in August in a state that allows 20 online sports betting licensees, 10 of which must partner with Arizona tribal nations.
FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Fanatics Sportsbook, bet365, and ESPN BET are some of the big brands Sporttrade will be going up against in the Grand Canyon State, where it hopes to carve a unique path.
"The Quechan Tribe is excited to partner with Sporttrade and their innovations in the sports betting marketplace," Quechan president Jordan Joaquin said. "Quechan's statewide mobile sports betting partnership with Sporttrade introduces an exciting new platform of wagering and will provide new and expanded gaming opportunities throughout Arizona which will provide economic benefits for our tribe."
