Blue Jays vs Brewers betting preview
Starting pitchers
Alek Manoah (8-2, 2.00 ERA): The 24-year-old has emerged as Toronto's ace this season, pitching to a 0.94 WHIP with an OBA of .207 across 13 starts. Manoah will be looking to bounce back from his worst start of the season after allowing four runs in 5 1-3 innings against the Yankees last Saturday.
Adrian Houser (4-7, 4.24 ERA): After putting together a career season in 2021, Houser has regressed this year with a mediocre 1.43 WHIP and a .256 OBA in 13 starts. The 29-year-old right-hander is coming off an outing against the Reds where he scattered four hits and three runs through six innings, struggling with his control as he also walked four batters.

Blue Jays vs Brewers picks and predictions
Our side and total predictions are based upon our analysis of the line and total in this game. Our best bet is our favorite pick across all markets.
Moneyline analysis
The Blue Jays beat the White Sox 9-5 on Wednesday and then enjoyed a day off before heading to Milwaukee for this series. The Jays are fourth in the majors with an OPS of .753 and have been even better lately, boasting an MLB-best OPS of .863 over the last 30 days. In that same time span, the Brewers have an OPS of just .694 and are plating just 4.0 runs per game.
That's good news for Jays' starter Alek Manoah, who is looking to rebound from his worst start of the season. Manoah gave up six hits and four runs in 5 1-3 innings to the Bronx Bombers last weekend.
In case you're thinking that doesn't sound so bad, you're absolutely right, it's simply a testament to how terrific and consistent Manoah has been this year. Manoah has a sizzling 2.00 ERA in 13 starts this year and the advanced stats suggest that the sophomore should continue to excel. The righty ranks among the top 2% of pitchers in the majors in hard-hit percentage while ranking among the top 10% in barrel percentage, walk rate, and xwOBA.
The Brewers will respond by sending Adrian Houser to the mound for today's clash. Although the Brewers are tied atop the NL Central with a 40-32 mark, Houser hasn't had much to do with their success, pitching to a 4.24 ERA with an almost identical xERA of 4.33 in 68 innings. Houser has a 6.48 ERA in his last three starts and Milwaukee is gone just 2-6 in his previous eight starts.
Home field might not mean much in this matchup either, with the Brewers going 2-8 in their last 10 games at American Family Field while the Jays are 10-4 in their previous 14 contests on the road. Back the Jays to win.
Prediction: Blue Jays moneyline (-140 at bet365)
Over/Under analysis
The Jays have been making Over bettors extremely rich over the last month, going above the total in 22 of their last 28 games.
With Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Alejandro Kirk leading the way, Toronto is plated a whopping 6.41 runs per game since May 24. They should be able to get to Houser who has had a very tough time making opposing batters miss.
As great as Manoah has been, Toronto's bullpen is been shaky at times with their relievers ranking 24th in the majors with a collective 4.41 ERA. We're leaning towards the Over here.
Prediction: Over 8.5 (-110 at 888 Sport)
Best bet
It's a bit surprising to see this line so close. Sure, the Brewers are eight games above .500, but the Jays are nine games above that mark in a much more competitive division.
Toronto should have a sizable edge both on the mound and at the plate tonight which makes this an easy play. Take the Jays at a reasonable moneyline price.
Pick: Blue Jays moneyline (-140 at bet365)
