Athletics youngster Tyler Soderstrom is tied for the MLB lead in home runs, and I’ll explain in my MLB player props why I expect him to stay hot at the dish and leave the yard again tonight.

The Athletics aren’t exactly a contender, but Tyler Soderstrom has made his presence felt across the big leagues early on in just his third MLB season. The first baseman is level with Aaron Judge for the most bombs in the Majors, going deep six times in just 11 games. He’s also hitting .381.
Soderstrom had just nine home runs across 61 contests in 2024, and he’s nearly surpassed that already. The slugger is absolutely tearing the cover off the baseball, going deep three times in his last two games after registering a two-homer night against the San Diego Padres on Monday.
The Padres send Dylan Cease to the mound tonight and Soderstrom has already had success against the righty. In three at-bats, he’s hitting .333 with a home run. Given how hot Soderstrom is right now, this bet is worth a look at +525 odds.
Gunnar Henderson (+425 at bet365)
Gunnar Henderson got a late start to the season after suffering an injury in spring training. He didn’t make his 2025 debut until last week, and while he’s hitting just .176, there’s reason to believe he's about to find his best.
The infielder was 2-for-4 on Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks with a double. He’s yet to go deep, but remember, Henderson slugged 37 home runs last season. He is a true power hitter. Arizona will give Merrill Kelly the baseball tonight, a guy who has already allowed three HRs in just nine innings in ‘25.
It’s only a matter of time until Henderson hits a bomb, and tonight feels like the perfect opportunity against a starter prone to the long ball.
Aaron Judge (+290 at FanDuel)
How can we not include the reigning AL MVP? Aaron Judge hit six home runs in his first seven games of the season. Yes, that means he’s failed to go deep in his last four games, but doubt Judge at your own risk.
The New York Yankees are facing the Detroit Tigers this afternoon, and while they will send their best to the mound in Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal, Judge happens to swing it very well against the talented lefty.
In 14 career at-bats versus Skubal, Judge has two homers. There is absolutely no question that Judge feels confident when he steps up to the plate with Skubal on the bump.
Considering Judge is in a bit of a rut when it comes to his power stroke, this bet at +290 is certainly worth a look. Home run No. 7 is in the cards this afternoon for the slugger.
