Tyler Soderstrom is still amongst the tops of the big leagues in home runs, and I’ll explain in my MLB player props why I believe he’s due for another bomb tonight against the Texas Rangers.

Tyler Soderstrom (+475 at bet365)
Tyler Soderstrom is off to quite the start this season for the Athletics. He’s burst onto the scene out of nowhere, leading the MLB with nine home runs in just 23 games. The slugger is also slashing .281, and he hit a couple of balls hard on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, they were caught.
The Athletics are facing the Texas Rangers again tonight, and to be honest, it’s only a matter of time until Soderstrom goes yard again. He’s gone four games without a homer, and the wind in Sacramento is certainly of help.
Plus, the Rangers send Kumar Rocker to the hill tonight, who is struggling with a 6.38 ERA. While he has electric stuff, Rocker doesn’t always miss the barrels. Lefties are also hitting .410 against him, compared to a .190 average for righties. Soderstrom swings it from the left side.
Aaron Judge (+230 at bet365)
I had Aaron Judge in my picks a couple of days ago, but he failed to smack a home run. The reigning AL MVP currently leads the Majors in batting average (.411) and hits (37). Seven of those hits have left the ballpark. While he’s home run-less in seven straight appearances, it truly does feel like he is also due for a bomb.
Judge has gone 5-for-8 in this series against the Cleveland Guardians heading into the finale this afternoon, and he had five long balls in six games vs. Cleveland in 2024.
Judge is 0-for-3 lifetime against Luis Ortiz, who the Guardians send to the hill. Regardless, he’s hot, and a homer could certainly be in the cards. It’s been a while.
Marcus Semien (+450 at bet365)
It’s been a rough campaign so far for Marcus Semien. The veteran is batting just .160 with two homers through 22 contests. However, he was 2 of 3 on Tuesday with a long ball, and he’s had success against the Athletics’ starter tonight, JP Sears.
Semien is 6-for-22 lifetime versus the lefty with two HRs. He also smacked bombs on back-to-back days four times last season. He has a lot of confidence against Sears, and after having a wonderful game on Tuesday,
Semien will be feeling his best at the plate once again. Given his track record with the southpaw on the bump, this is worth a look.
