Home Run Props and Odds for Tonight: FanDuel Dinger Tuesday Picks

Early returns on Tigers rookie Keider Montero are far from promising, and our FanDuel Dinger Tuesday Picks believe that not even pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park will help him avoid the longball vs. Cal Raleigh and the rest of the Mariners lineup.

We’ve made it to that part of the week: Tuesday, where you can get paid for picking the right guys to go yard.

You can do that with FanDuel's Dinger Tuesday, where for two different games, you place a $25 bet on a player to hit a home run and get $5 in bonus bets for every total home run hit in that game (regardless of who hits 'em).

I'll break down the best games to target, including a starting pitcher breakdown and best MLB player prop values, for August 6.

Best home run props and odds for FanDuel Dinger Tuesday

Twins vs Cubs (Wrigley Field, 8:05 p.m. ET)
(All stats last 30 days)

Pitcher HR/9 HR/FB% FB%
Twins Pablo Lopez 1.45 15.4 39
Cubs Shota Imanaga 1.24 9.8 48.8

Twins’ righty Pablo Lopez is in some rarified air, emphasis on "air," as one of only 11 pitchers on the season that’s allowed 20 or more home runs. He’s been consistently serving them up too, allowing at least one long ball in 11 of his last 14 starts.

Lopez is posting career-worsts with a 1.45 HR/9 and 39% FB% on the season. He squares off against fellow lefty Shota Imanaga, who’s been pretty good in his rookie season with the Cubs, though the 30-year-old has been getting hit a bit harder of late.

Imanaga has been taken yard in three straight contests, upping his tally to 16 surrendered on the season. His FB% is also a juicy 48.8%. He’ll be facing the Twins for the first time in his career.

Hitters to target - Cubs
* = best price available

  • Seiya Suzuki (+800)
Suzuki has hit at least one homer in three of the last four series he has played in. He has a career-best 45.8% FB% this season and is hitting .282 against righties this season with 13 dingers.
  • Cody Bellinger (+800)
Bellinger is just off his career-best FB% rate at 47.3% and has homered in each of the last two series he has played in. He has just three career at-bats vs. Lopez with a single.
  • Dansby Swanson (+900)
Yes, the Cubs’ shortstop hasn’t connected on a long ball in 20 straight games, but Swanson has taken Lopez yard twice in his career in 24 at-bats. He’s hitting .304 over the last 15 days, so this is worth a dip.

Hitters to target - Twins

  • Ryan Jeffers (+560)
Jeffers leads the Twins with 16 homers on the season, and he’s gone yard twice in his last four appearances. He’s posting a FB% rate over 42% in each of the last three seasons, currently at 42.4% in 2024.
  • *Byron Buxton (+400)
Buxton has homered twice in the last seven days and is hitting .284 against lefties this season.

Pick: Ryan Jeffers (+560)

Tigers vs Mariners (T-Mobile Park, 9:40 p.m. ET)
(All stats last 30 days)

Pitcher HR/9 HR/FB% FB%
Tigers Keider Montero 2.27 20.8 38.4
Mariners Luis Castillo 1.06 10.4 40.6

Rookie Keider Montero has been lit up in his short career. The 24-year-old Venezuelan has allowed 11 home runs in just eight big league starts and has allowed at least one dinger in all but one game this season.

Montero’s 2.27 HR/9 is the highest it’s ever been at any level of pro ball with the Tigers, as is his HR/FB% clip of 20.8%.

He’ll be facing off with Mariners’ righty Luis Castillo, who gave up a home run in his last start, upping his total to 16 on the season.

While he’s mostly cleaned up his act — Castillo has only surrendered six long balls in his last 11 starts — he still carries a high FB% rate of 40.6. He was taken deep twice in his only start against the Tigers since joining the Mariners in 2022.

Hitters to target - Mariners
* = best price available

  • Cal Raleigh (+320)
Leads the M’s in home runs with 23 on the season. Raleigh has a 51.2% FB rate and owns an 18.3% HR/FB rate, the second-best mark in his four-year career.
  • *Mitch Haniger (+370)
Went yard twice in three games last series against the Phillies, pushing him into double-digit home runs on the year. Haniger's .256 average at home is his best split, and where he’s hit nine of his homers on the season.

Hitters to target - Tigers

  • *Javier Baez (+900)
He’s faced Castillo the most times of any Tiger, hitting .222 in 36 career at-bats, but Baez enters this one with three homers and a .457 slugging percentage over the last 15 days.
  • *Bligh Madris (+830)
Madris hit his first home run of the season in the last series against the Royals and has a career-best 52% FB% this season. It’s a small sample size in 2024, but he is hitting .382 in 34 at-bats on the year.

Pick: Cal Raleigh (+320)
