The San Francisco Giants are going for a three-game sweep over the reeling New York Mets in a matinee clash at Oracle Park on Wednesday afternoon.
San Francisco, winners of nine of its last 10, handed the Mets their fifth straight loss with a 3-2 victory Tuesday behind another strong pitching performance from Logan Webb. Now the Giants will turn to Anthony DeSclafani as they look to build on their four-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West.

Starting pitchers
Tylor Megill (1-2, 3.42 ERA): Megill has allowed 11 earned runs in his last 14 2-3 innings on the mound, and the Mets have lost in each of his last three starts. The righty was extremely solid when he first entered this rotation, but teams might be starting to figure him out a little. Also, Megill is 0-2 with a 4.79 ERA when pitching on the road.
Anthony DeSclafani (11-5, 3.29 ERA): After a stellar start to the season, DeSclafani has struggled to find any sort of consistency in the last couple of weeks. However, the righty did pitch five innings of two-run ball against the Colorado Rockies on Friday, and that was a step in the right direction for the 31-year-old. Now, DeSclafani needs to figure out how to get himself going at home, where he has a 4.15 ERA on the year.

Moneyline pick
DeSclafani has been far from perfect for San Francisco recently, but the righty has to be looking forward to facing New York in this game. Not only are the Mets weak offensively, but they have also struggled to hit the righty in the past.
New York is collectively just 6-for-41 against DeSclafani, and nobody on the team has homered off the righty. That’s not to say that the 31-year-old is going to shut them out completely, but he should be able to give the Giants a quality start in this game.
On the other side, Megill could be in trouble against this Giants lineup. San Francisco has a Top-10 batting average in baseball against right-handed pitching, and the team is also in the Top 5 in homers against righties.
One guy that significantly raises his game against right-handed pitching is Brandon Crawford. The veteran shortstop is batting .324 with 14 homers and 48 RBIs against righties on the year. Don’t be surprised if he has a huge impact on this game, but everybody on this San Francisco team is capable of chipping in for a victory.
PREDICTION: San Francisco (-154)
Over/Under pick
DeSclafani has been brilliant against the players on this Mets roster in the past, but he hasn’t been pitching very well coming into this game.
With that in mind, don’t be surprised if New York is able to score two or three on the righty and then get another one or two on the San Francisco bullpen. The problem for the Mets is that Megill and the rest of their bullpen are likely to give up a whole lot more than that against the Giants.
This San Francisco offense might not look great on paper, but this team can really hit (they lead the majors in homers and are fifth in OPS) and the group is especially productive against right-handed pitching. The Giants should put up a big number in this game, helping Over bettors cash their tickets.
