My analysis
Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory gave the Milwaukee Brewers their ninth consecutive home series victory, but Texas Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi might have something to say about the Brew Crew scoring the sweep in this series. 

He's won two of his last three trips to the mound with 26 strikeouts across his past 24 2/3 frames. The strikeouts are what has allowed Eovaldi to pitch deeper into games and he could have a big strikeout day against the Brewers.

Eovaldi is a groundball pitcher who strikes out a tick over nine guys per nine. He mostly spins his four-seam/splitter combo, but he’s gone to the bender more often this season and he’s getting a high number of whiffs from his curveball (34.5%) and the splitter (39.6%).

The 34-year-old Rangers’ ace strikes out a tick over 11 lefties per nine and while he should see at least four, he’s also striking out a shade over eight righties per nine innings and he’ll likely see 5+ righty bats in today’s Milwaukee lineup. 

That should allow for Eovaldi to clear this strikeout number. Milwaukee has 11 strikeouts across their 62 at-bats during this series; the 17% series rate might be a big improvement over their seasonal 23% strikeout rate, but this is a much tougher matchup in that regard. He's cleared this number in seven of his last 10 starts and should continue that trend today.

I like Eovaldi to get his strikeouts and I also believe Milwaukee's Willy Adames and Rhys Hoskins will go hitless today.

Adames has been blanked in the hit column in this series with a pair of walks. He boasts a 22% strikeout rate against righties and is 1-for-8 lifetime against Eovaldi.

Hoskins is riding a seven-game hitting streak, but he boasts a 27% strikeout rate against righties and has cleared his prop number in only four of his last 10 home games.
