The New York Yankees visit the Baltimore Orioles to open a three-game set at Camden Yards on Monday, April 28.

My top Yankees vs. Orioles predictions and MLB picks expect both teams to put crooked numbers on the board in the series opener of this American League East showdown tonight.

My Yankees vs Orioles best bet: Over 9 (-115 at Caesars)

New York Yankees righty Will Warren has been lights out against right-handed hitters this season and limited them to a .553 OPS and .239 wOBA. The problem is that the Baltimore Orioles send a lineup loaded with left-handed hitters to the dish, and Warren has surrendered a healthy .869 OPS and .378 wOBA to lefty bats during his short career.

Of course, not only are the Orioles a lefty-heavy lineup, but they also pack punch with a sixth-ranked .332 wOBA and second-ranked .201 ISO against right-handed arms this season. I’m anticipating Baltimore doing its fair share to send this total Over the number.

It’s also a good matchup for the New York bats, with Tomoyuki Sugano pitching to contact and sporting the lowest strikeout percentage (8.0%) and called + swinging strike percentage (22.6%) in baseball. As a result, I’m expecting the Japanese righty to have a tough time navigating the New York lineup.

The Yankees rank second in wOBA (.347) and third in ISO (.194) against right-handed arms, and Sugano’s 6.11 xERA and 4.79 xFIP are way above his 3.54 ERA.

This is also a plus-ballpark for offense, with Oriole Park at Camden Yards featuring the shortest right-field porch in baseball.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Yankees vs Orioles same-game parlay (SGP)

Orioles moneyline

Over 9

Ryan O'Hearn Over 0.5 RBI

Baltimore has dropped nine of its past 13 ball games, and a lot of the misfortune can be chalked up to ranking 29th in BABIP during the stretch. The Orioles have been a little unlucky during the run, too. They rank fifth in barrel percentage and eighth in hard-hit rate during the slump, so this matchup against Warren sets up as a kick-starter for the Baltimore offense.

Orioles first baseman Ryan O’Hearn hits in the heart of the lineup and has shown off with an elite .968 OPS and .422 wOBA against right-handed pitchers. With Warren allowing a career .391 on-base percentage to left-handed hitters, and a handful of them ahead of O’Hearn in the lineup, I expect him to have multiple RBI opportunities to cash in on tonight.
