The Atlanta Braves are one game away from clinching the World Series for the first time since 1995. The Braves would rather win the Series at home and will have one opportunity to do so tonight.
With Charlie Morton injured, Atlanta has yet to announce a starter in what will be a second straight bullpen game, while the Astros will send out Framber Valdez, who got rocked by the Braves in Game 1.
Despite some of the uncertainty around the arms, there's still no shortage of MLB player props to consider — including going Over on a few Braves props?
Here are our favorite World Series Game 5 props for tonight’s (potentially) last game of the 2021 season.
Astros vs Braves prop picks
- Soler Over 1.5 total bases (+160)

Astros vs Braves Game 5 props
Cirque du Soler
Jorge Soler had the most clutch hit for the Braves this season: With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh last night, after a Dansby Swanson homer, Soler smacked a pinch-hit laser to deep left field to give the Braves a 3-2 lead.
Of course, the Braves never looked back and now are on the cusp of being champions once again.
Soler has a .310 ISO against lefties this season and will take on southpaw Framber Valdez. In case you forgot, Soler launched a solo shot off Valdez three pitches into the World Series, and with how hot Soler has been, we wouldn’t be shocked if he hit another one tonight.
However, we don't need him to go yard for this prop — just an extra-base hit or a couple of singles will suffice. Soler will most likely be leading off tonight, which helps give him another opportunity or two to cash this prop for us.
PICK: Jorge Soler Over 1.5 total bases (+160 at DraftKings)
Hit men
Ozzie Albies is a switch hitter, but he has historically been much better hitting from the right side. So much so that against righty Zack Greinke last night, Albies faced him twice... batting right-handed.
Tonight, Albies can naturally bat righty, as he's facing a lefty in Framber Valdez — and the Braves' 2B has a .262 ISO and .393 wOBA against southpaws on the season.
On the other hand, we have Brantley — a left-handed batter — who has a .102 ISO and wOBA of .259 against lefties this season. There’s a good chance Tucker Davidson pitches the bulk of this game and through 15 plate appearances against lefties this year, Davidson has a .196 wOBA with an ISO of .000.
I like Albies in this matchup.
PICK: Albies more total bases than Brantley (-125 at DraftKings)
A whiff of disappointment
Valdez went just two innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, against the Braves in a disappointing Game 1. In those two frames, he also struck out just two betters and threw 52 pitches.
To be fair, it’s not easy for lefties to punch out the Braves, as tonight's projected lineup is striking out just 18 percent of the time over the last 30 days. That group also has an ISO of .354 and a wOBA of .470 in that same time frame.
Meanwhile, Valdez has just a 22.2-percent strikeout rate in the last 30 days and the Astros, in a must-win situation, will not hesitate to pull him at the slightest hint of trouble.
He’ll have an extremely short leash in this spot, which has us leaning towards him not hitting his K prop tonight.
PICK: Framber Valdez Under 4.5 strikeouts (-165 at FanDuel)
