The 76ers will look to snap a six-game skid with a visit to the Mile High City and a clash with the Nuggets. Unfortunately, we won’t be treated to a Nikola Jokic-Joel Embiid battle as the latter is still sidelined.
My 76ers vs. Nuggets predictions expect Jokic to take advantage of a vulnerable frontcourt and cruise past the Over on his rebounds prop.
Read my NBA picks to see why you should take the Over on that prop and how you should bet the spread and point total.
76ers vs Nuggets prediction
My best bet
Nikola Jokic Over 12.5 rebounds (-125 at bet365)
My analysis
There’s nothing like a good rebounds prop, and Nikola Jokic’s 12.5 line is ripe for the picking tonight. The big man is among the league leaders in rebounds per game at a healthy 13.2, so pulling down 13 boards is not a tall order for the Denver Nuggets three-time MVP.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been middle-of-the-pack against opposing rebounders this season, allowing the 16th-most rebounds per game. The 76ers will once again be without Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond tonight, which means Guerschon Yabusele or Adem Bona with start at center with Pete Nance providing depth off the bench.
Philly’s frontcourt rotation is depleted and undersized, and the 6’11, 284-pound Jokic should have no issue imposing his will on the glass. Jokic has hit the Over on this line in three of his last four and in 21 of 36 games overall this season. Over his last three meetings with the 76ers dating back to 2022-23, he finished with rebound totals of 16, 19, and 17.
The Sixers have allowed 14.5 rebounds to centers this season, and over the last seven, they’ve allowed 15.3. Philly has allowed the fifth-most rebounds to opponents over the last three games, making this a great matchup for Jokic.
The Sixers have allowed a player to grab at least 13 rebounds in three of their last four. In that span, Giannis Antetokounmpo has finished with 15, Josh Hart has pulled down 17, and Isaiah Hartenstein has nabbed 16. Jokic should have no problem cashing the Over on a modest line in a favorable matchup at home. I expect him to continue the trend set by other strong rebounders against Philadelphia.
76ers vs Nuggets same-game parlay
The Nuggets are heavy favorites at home after covering in six of their last seven. Denver is playing at full strength, while the Sixers are dealing with a decimated frontcourt rotation and holes across the roster. Joel Embiid is sidelined, and Paul George is questionable.
The Sixers are 9-12-1 ATS on the road and 3-9-1, which is the second-worst mark in the Association. Philly has gone 2-11-2 ATS in non-Conference games, which is the worst mark in the NBA. The Sixers are just 1-4 as double-digit dogs this season, and Denver is 3-2 when favored by 10 points or more.
Denver is 13-7 to the Over at home this season, and Philly is 12-8-2 to the Over on the road. In five games as double-digit underdogs, the Sixers hit the Over four times, and in five games as double-digit favorites, the Nuggets hit the Over four times. The Sixers have hit the Over in six of the last 10, and these teams hit the Over in three of the last six head-to-head.
Denver should be able to put up plenty of points against a shorthanded Sixers squad and, despite missing key players, Philly has been able to put up points thanks to the high-scoring Tyrese Maxey and strong contributions from Kelly Oubre Jr. and Ricky Council IV.
