The Cleveland Cavaliers aim to bounce back after suffering a surprising loss to the Atlanta Hawks earlier this week when the teams finish off a home-and-home set on Thanksgiving.

Donovan Mitchell had another solid showing from three-point range against Atlanta on Wednesday, and I’ll look for that trend to continue this afternoon with 4+ treys. Keep scrolling for my Cavaliers vs. Hawks predictions and NBA picks for Friday, November 29.

Cavaliers vs Hawks prediction

My best bet
Donovan Mitchell Over 3.5 threes made (-130 at bet365)

My analysis
The Cleveland Cavaliers had a disappointing showing against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, suffering just their second loss of the season, but Donovan Mitchell held up his end of the bargain on the offensive side with a game-high 30 points, and four makes from three-point range.

Mitchell enters today’s contest with at least four three-pointers in two straight games and six of his last eight outings, so I’m looking for him to stay hot in Atlanta.

The Cavs' shooting guard has always taken a high-volume approach from beyond the arc, as he’s averaging 9+ three-point attempts per game for the fourth straight season. Mitchell isn’t just chucking, though, as he’s converting on 40% of his attempts – he's one of just five players in the NBA averaging 40% or better on 9+ attempts per game.

The Hawks are the worst team in the league at defending the three this season, with opponents attempting 42.1 shots from three-point range (30th) while converting 39.4% (30th).

If Mitchell is going to help his Cavs bounce back this afternoon, he’ll need to take advantage of Atlanta’s weakness and get hot from three-point range.

Cavaliers vs Hawks same-game parlay

Donovan Mitchell Over 3.5 made threes

Donovan Mitchell Over 27.5 points

Trae Young Over 11.5 assists

Mitchell is averaging 25.1 points per game in November and should be able to bump that number up a bit against the Hawks, who own the third-worst defense in the NBA (121.2 points against per game). The Cavs star is also coming off a 30-point game vs Atlanta and has scored 30+ in four of his last seven contests.

Assists have been a dime a dozen for Trae Young, who’s fresh off a 22-assist showing against the Cavaliers and has collected 12+ assists in three straight games and 11 of 18 outings overall this season.
