The Boston Celtics are in Salt Lake City tonight for a matchup with the lowly Utah Jazz at the Delta Center.
Derrick White is a critical piece for the defending champions, and I expect him to show out tonight, as I’ll explain below in my Celtics vs Jazz predictions.

My best bet: Derrick White Over 17.5 points (-115 at bet365)
My analysis
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown get a lot of the credit for the Boston Celtics’ success — rightfully so — but Derrick White is also a key piece to the puzzle in their pursuit of another title.
The veteran is averaging 16.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 2024-25 while shooting 38.6% from 3-point land.
White has been playing very well in March, averaging 19.5 points across eight outings. He’s cashed the Over in points in four consecutive games, even scoring 18 on March 10 in a victory against the Utah Jazz.
The former Colorado standout is scoring 19 ppg since the All-Star break and continues to play heavy minutes — nearly 35 per night this month.
The Jazz are one of the worst defensive teams in the Association, and they’re considered an easy matchup for point guards, allowing 25.7 points per contest.
Considering the confidence White is playing with now, he shouldn’t have any issues putting together another impressive performance as the C’s search for another win here on the road in SLC.

Jrue Holiday may not be putting up quite the same numbers as he did when he was with the Bucks, but Boston wouldn’t be a contender without him. He’s also an elite two-way player and a solid playmaker, which is the focus here.
Holiday is averaging 3.8 assists this season, and he’s been dropping dimes lately, cashing the Over in three of his last five. He has 20 assists across the last two games, compiling eight and 12. Holiday also had four dimes against the Jazz earlier this month.
Yes, the total is quite high tonight for Jayson Tatum, but hear me out. While Tatum is averaging 27.1 ppg on the season, he’s scoring 28.7 in March and has hit the Over in points in four of his last five appearances, posting 30+ in three of those games.
Tatum didn’t suit up the last time the Celtics took on Utah. However, in 2023-24, he torched them, averaging 34 points across two meetings. The Duke product is on a heater, and that should continue tonight against a very average opponent.
