The Los Angeles Clippers will have a good opportunity to get back into the win column tonight when they head to FedExForum to take on the Memphis Grizzlies in the latest NBA odds.

Los Angeles has been on a roll with 11 wins in its last 15 games while Memphis continues to struggle without Ja Morant and Desmond Bane, dropping nine of its last 11 contests.

Find out why I like the visitors to keep rolling in my NBA picks and predictions for Clippers vs. Grizzlies on Friday, February 23.

Clippers vs Grizzlies predictions

The Los Angeles Clippers suffered a rare loss in their first game back from the All-Star break on Thursday, falling 129-107 to the Thunder. Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with just 20 points, while James Harden (17 points) and Paul George (14 points) also had quiet nights.

However, tonight should provide a good opportunity for the Clips to get right back into the win column, as they tip off against a Memphis Grizzlies team that has struggled all season — especially on the offensive side.

Memphis is scoring just 107.1 points per game this season – the worst mark in the NBA — and without Ja Morant and Desmond Bane, that number is down to 104.8 in February. Jaren Jackson Jr. is the only real scoring threat for the Grizzlies of late, leading the team in points in 11 of their last 15 outings, but Memphis’ lack of depth has become an insurmountable issue.

This sets up a good matchup for the Clippers, who own a Top 10 defense in the NBA, allowing 113 ppg and a 53.9% opponent-effective field goal mark. The Grizzlies have scored 106 points or fewer in six of their last 10 contests so I don’t see them having much offensive success against the defensively-stout Clippers.

My best bet: Grizzlies team total Under 106.5 (-120 at DraftKings

Clippers vs Grizzlies same-game parlay

Grizzlies team total Under 105.5

Kawhi Leonard Under 23.5 points

James Harden Over 7.5 assists

50% boost available

Leonard started February on fire with two 30-plus point outings in his first three games but has cooled off since, averaging just 19.3 ppg in his four outings since. Kawhi was dealing with an adductor injury before the All-Star break and could see limited minutes in a back-to-back scenario, which is why I like the Under on 23.5 points tonight.

Harden will likely need to pick up some of that slack, so he should get plenty of touches tonight. The Clippers guard is averaging 8.3 assists per game and has notched at least eight dimes in 19 of his last 26 appearances.

Clippers vs Grizzlies spread and Over/Under analysis

The Clippers opened as the sizable 9-point favorite on the road and that number hasn’t seen much movement through Friday morning. With Los Angeles playing on the tail end of a back-to-back, I think this game could be closer than some might expect.

Los Angeles’ offense has cooled off slightly over the last couple of weeks, averaging 111.0 ppg through that span. With Leonard only recently coming off the injury report with an adductor strain, the Clips star will likely see somewhat limited usage in a back-to-back scenario.

Neither Harden (18.5 ppg) nor George (18.4 ppg) have shot the lights out this month, so it should be a relatively quiet night from Los Angeles’ top trio, which means a blowout win isn’t all that likely.

Tonight’s total opened at 223.5 points and has trended down at most books, reaching as low as 220 in some cases. With the Clippers’ offense cooling off and the Grizzlies owning the league’s worst attack, the Under is the clear play for me tonight.

Memphis has scored just 104.8 ppg in February, and while the Grizzlies have seen an uptick in scoring through their last two wins, those likely came from unsustainable sources. Although Ziaire Williams dropped a season-high 27 points in their 113-110 win over the Bucks before the All-Star break, the forward is averaging just 8.0 ppg off the bench this season.

Los Angeles has also cashed the Under in three of its last five contests with an offensive rating of 110.3 over that span, tied with Memphis for eighth-worst in the NBA.
