DraftKings NBA Pick6 fantasy basketball lineup for March 2

Timberwolves Jaden McDaniels 15.5 points: LESS

The Minnesota Timberwolves got good news on Sunday morning: Julius Randle intends to make his return to the court tonight after missing 13 games due to an adductor strain. The Timberwolves went 5-8 in that stretch, very much missing Randle’s reliable offensive creation.

That good news will come at the expense of Jaden McDaniels’ scoring. He has become more and more aggressive in recent weeks, but that was in some part because he was playing so often at power forward. Minnesota’s interior depth was that shallow.

Even if on a minutes restriction tonight, Randle will cut into McDaniels’ new role.

Suns Devin Booker 27.5 points: LESS

Less from McDaniels on offense should not lead to him disengaging from tonight’s tilt. He despises the Phoenix Suns too much.

McDaniels’ stoic nature is the direct counter to Devin Booker’s general whining. McDaniels has a clear and distinct distaste for Booker and the Suns, one emphasized when he and Anthony Edwards contested a Devin Booker layup in the dying seconds of last postseason’s series sweep. McDaniels collected the rebound and had some words for Booker.

McDaniels should be draped all over Booker tonight, slowing the shooting guard after he had individual successes against the Timberwolves twice earlier this season.

Thunder Isaiah Hartenstein 11.5 rebounds: MORE

Losing Victor Wembanyama has had the predicted effect on the San Antonio Spurs’ season, going 2-4 outright since returning from the All-Star Break, as well as 2-4 against the spread. San Antonio has been an underdog in each and every game.

The Spurs’ first post-break game was against the undersized Suns. In the following five games, eight opposing big men have grabbed double-digit rebounds.

Jalen Duren snagged 15, Yves Missi and Kelly Olynyk reached 15 apiece in the same game, and then two nights later that duo found 11 and 12, respectively.

Isaiah Hartenstein should continue the trend of abusing San Antonio on the glass.

Clippers James Harden 22.5 points: MORE

LeBron James is day-to-day with his foot concern. Luka Doncic is day-to-day with a balky calf, as is Austin Reaves. Rui Hachimura and Maxi Kleber are both out.

The Los Angeles Lakers just do not have much remaining depth. Perhaps James, Doncic, and Reaves all play as they did on Friday night in this same matchup.

James Harden struggled shooting that night, going 5-of-22 from the field and 1-of-10 from deep on his way to 18 points. No one should expect that painful of a game from Harden again, but his workload should remain the same.

Timberwolves Anthony Edwards 26.5 points: MORE

Randle’s return to the rotation should take some onus off Anthony Edwards. As well as McDaniels and Naz Reid have played in recent weeks, defenses still know to focus on Edwards alone. Randle’s offensive creation will demand some of that attention.

But in addition to that, Edwards may be a bit angry tonight. He was ejected Thursday night thanks to two questionable technical fouls. His second technical, in particular, followed an egregious missed call. Those techs led to Edwards being suspended on Friday night, as well.

The Timberwolves lost both games.

Edwards needs to right some of that display, and that should come at Phoenix’s expense tonight.

Clippers Kawhi Leonard 5.5 rebounds: MORE

Kawhi Leonard snagged just four boards on Friday night, but the more notable number was his 37 minutes and 43 seconds. Leonard is playing more and more. That was his sixth straight appearance with more than 30 minutes and his greatest playing time of the season thus far.

As Leonard plays more, it is only logical to target a few spots where the markets may not have properly adjusted.

He covered Notre Dame football for various outlets from 2008 to 2024, most notably spending eight seasons as NBC Sports’ beat writer on the Irish. That was also when his gambling focus took off. Knowing there were veteran beat writers with three decades more experience than he had, Douglas found his niche by best recognizing Notre Dame’s standing in each year’s national landscape, a complex tapestry most easily understood and remembered via betting odds.

In 2021, that interest created a freelance opportunity with Covers, a role that eventually led to Douglas joining the company full-time in 2023. In the fall, Douglas will place five or six dozen bets each week, a disproportionate amount via BetRivers because the operator tends to have lines slightly different than the rest of the market. The same can be said of Circa Sports’ futures markets.

While Douglas is an avid NBA fan and covers the league throughout the year, the vast majority of his bets are on college football, because that is the biggest key to sports betting: Know what you do not know.
