The Memphis Grizzlies prepare to face off against the Atlanta Hawks in a critical late-season matchup.

Both teams have their eyes on the prize, with the Grizzlies fighting to lock up the No. 2 seed in the West and the Hawks striving to strengthen their chances at the play-in tournament.

In this high-stakes game, I expect the superstars to shine bright. Find out how to take advantage in our NBA betting picks for Grizzlies vs. Hawks below.

Grizzlies vs Hawks best odds

Grizzlies vs Hawks picks and predictions

Trae Young faces a significant challenge in tonight's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. While Young is undoubtedly one of the most gifted players in the NBA, he'll be going up against a staunch Grizzlies defense known for its speed, physicality, and prowess at all three levels. Considering the defensive obstacles he's up against, a tough night could be ahead.

The fact the Atlanta Hawks are coming into this game after playing Indiana last night further complicates matters for Young. Facing a relentless Memphis team that never takes a play off will be a tough task for the Hawks, especially given their fatigue from the back-to-back. Although Young was ejected in the third quarter of last night's game and should have relatively fresh legs, it's worth noting that the Grizzlies recently held Steph Curry, another elite guard, to just 16 points.

Another factor working against Young is the defensive attention he's likely to receive from Dillon Brooks. Brooks has earned a reputation as one of the NBA's most tenacious defenders, with a passion for taking on the opposition's best perimeter scorers. Young's scoring abilities will be put to the test against Brooks' relentless energy and determination.

Examining past encounters between Young and Brooks reveals a pattern of hot and cold performances for the Hawks guard. Over six career games in which they've shared the court, Young has averaged 22.7 points, a dip from his career average of 25.5 points. This trend suggests that Young may struggle to reach the 26.5-point mark in tonight's game.

Adding to the concerns for those considering Young's scoring potential is the fact that the Grizzlies allow the fourth-fewest points per game to opposing point guards, conceding just 22.6 points to the position. Young, as an undersized point guard, may find it difficult to create space against the physical Grizzlies lineup.

While Trae is undoubtedly a phenomenal talent, tonight's game against the Grizz presents numerous challenges. Facing a fast, physical defense led by Dillon Brooks and coming off a back-to-back game, Young's scoring should fall Under the 26.5-point mark.

My best bet: Trae Young Under 26.5 points (-110)

Grizzlies vs Hawks spread analysis

The spread is set at -2 in favor of Memphis. While the Grizzlies have been one of the best teams in the NBA this season, they're just 10-13-1 against the spread as away favorites.

On the other hand, the Hawks have had mixed results playing on no rest, with a 4-6-1 ATS record in such situations. As a home underdog, Atlanta is 3-3 ATS.

The Hawks are eager to stack wins to solidify their chances at the play-in tournament, but star Trae Young will face a formidable challenge in Dillon Brooks, who has emerged as one of the NBA's top defensive players. Brooks' size and strength could be pivotal in slowing Trae down and disrupting the Hawks' offensive rhythm.

Atlanta's recent performance at home may offer some hope for bettors, as they are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games against teams with a road winning percentage of less than .400. This trend suggests that the Hawks tend to take care of business against weaker teams at home. However, it's crucial to remember that Memphis is one of the league's elite  teams and cannot be taken lightly.

While the spread is -2 in favor of Memphis, the game's outcome is far from certain and as such, I'm staying away.

Grizzlies vs Hawks Over/Under analysis

The Over/Under is set at 244.5 and 245 at most sportsbooks. Analyzing the Over/Under records for both teams could provide some insight into what bettors might expect. Memphis has an O/U record of 33-38-2, while Atlanta's record stands at 42-32.

Recent trends also seem to favor the Over in this matchup. The Over has hit in five of Memphis' last six games and in five of their last six when their opponent allows 100+ points in the previous game.

For the Hawks, the Over has hit in eight of their last 10 games following a straight-up win of more than 10 points and in four of their last five games playing on no rest. Additionally, the last meeting between these two teams exceeded the Over by 10.5 points, suggesting that another high-scoring affair could be in store.

In conclusion, while the Over/Under is set at 244.5 and 245, recent trends and both teams' records seem to lean towards the Over.
