In the midst of a 6-game road trip, the Miami Heat look to make it three straight wins when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers – a team they have dominated of late.

Action tips off Saturday at 10 pm ET from the Moda Center in Portland, OR.

With Miami playing its fourth game in six nights, our Heat vs. Trail Blazers predictions and NBA Picks have this one turning into a fight by the fourth quarter.

My analysis
The Miami Heat slugged its way out of Utah last game, gutting out a 97-92 win in a game where both teams shot under 40%.

While it wasn't aesthetically pleasing, the Heat's defense turned in another stellar performance, holding a second straight opponent under 100 points after defeating Golden State 114-98 a game earlier.

While Jimmy Butler sits out game five of his seven-game suspension, Miami has seen second-year man Jamie Jaquez elevate his game. He had 20 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists against Utah, the first time he's touched the 20-point plateau this season.

His development will definitely help Tyler Herro, who will assume top-dog status once the Heat finally deals with Butler. Herro leads the team in scoring at 23.6 points per game.

While the Heat are regrouping inside the East's Top 8, the Portland Trail Blazers are trying to turn the corner to legitimate franchise status.

They took an ugly 117-111 loss to the Luka and Kyrie-less Mavericks, a game they led almost exclusively through the first 45 minutes before surrendering an 18-2 run to close the game and take the L.

Portland is one of the league's lowest-scoring teams, averaging just 108.5 points to rank 25th. Part of that is a rough 34% mark from 3-point land, the fourth-lowest make rate in the NBA.

They are also one of the league's most porous defensively, allowing 116.4 points per game (23rd), with opponents shooting 47.7% from the field and 37.4% from beyond the arc, both Bottom-4 marks.

It might just be the team that Miami needs, as its scoring has dropped in every game since scoring 118 in Sacramento.

The Heat have taken four straight at the Moda Center, holding them to an average of 100.3 points.

They've held Portland to under 100 points in five of the last seven. They'll need their defense to show up again, as their offense will sputter Saturday.

Heat vs Trail Blazers same-game parlay

Under 217.5

Jaime Jaquez Jr Over 3.5 assists

Tyler Herro Under 3.5 made three point baskets

Jaime Jaquez has been playmaking a lot in 2025, and especially with Butler out of the lineup.

He has crossed his 3.5 assist line set for Saturday three times in the four Butler-free games, including a 10-dime game against Sacramento, part of his first triple-double of the season.

In six January games, Jaquez Jr has had at least four assists in five of them.

We'll finish with Tyler Herro, who is coming off a 4-for-9 mark from 3-point range in the win over Utah.

His 3.5 line for 3-point makes Saturday is gettable, but Herro's inconsistency is hard to overlook, as he hasn't hit four triples in back-to-back games over the last 13.

In five career games against the Blazers, Herro has also only hit four 3-pointers in a game one time.
