Knicks vs Hawks Prediction, Picks, & Odds for Wednesday's NBA Game

With both teams sitting in the bottom third in terms of defensive rating, Rohit Ponnaiya sees the offenses taking center stage in what should be another high-scoring game between the Knicks and Hawks.

The Atlanta Hawks host the New York Knicks in NBA action on Wednesday night.

Both teams have been cashing Over bets going back to last season and my Knicks vs. Hawks predictions are expecting another high-scoring game here.

Here are my best free NBA picks for this November 6 clash.

My analysis

The New York Knicks entered this season with championship aspirations but have clearly regressed on defense. Trading for Karl-Anthony Towns has helped with their spacing and offensive efficiency but his inability to protect the rim has been exposed

We saw that in their previous loss to the Rockets on Tuesday night when they were outrebounded 50-39 and allowed 62 points in the paint. The Knicks are now dead-last in the league in opponent two-point percentage (61.2%) and 21st in points per game allowed in the paint (50.3).

The Atlanta Hawks have plenty of issues but with emerging power forward Jalen Johnson and the center combo of Clint Capela and Onyeka Okongwu, they can score inside. The Hawks are tied for seventh in the league in points in the paint per game (52.0) while ranking eighth in 2PT% (55.9%).

That said, the Hawks are brutal on the other end of the floor and play at a blazing-fast pace. With Trae Young at PG and depth issues on the wing with Bogdan Bogdanovic and De'Andre Hunter sidelined, the Hawks struggle to defend the perimeter.

They are 27th in the league in defensive rating and rank dead-last in opponent 3-point percentage (39.8%) which has led to them allowing the third-most ppg (121.9). The Knicks lead the league in 3-point percentage (41.4%) and are third in offensive rating.
