My best bet
Anthony Davis Over 43.5 points + rebounds + assists (-115 at bet365)
My analysis
Anthony Davis went off for season-highs in points (42) and rebounds (23) in last night’s matchup with the Charlotte Hornets, and I fully expect him to carry that momentum into tonight's tilt with the Philadelphia 76ers. But I’m certainly not chasing stats after Monday’s monster production, as Davis has enjoyed sustained excellence over the last month.
Since exiting the Christmas Day matchup with Golden State early, Davis has averaged 27.7 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, good for 45.1 points + rebounds + assists. AD has hit the Over in seven of those 12, including each of the last two and three of four.
Davis has hit the Over on this line in 21 of 41 games, including 12 of 21 on the road. Tonight’s matchup is a great one, thanks to the Sixers' lack of frontcourt depth and key injuries at center. Both Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond are out, leaving inexperienced and undersized bigs Guerschon Yabusele and Adem Bona to hold things down at center.
Over the last five outings, the Sixers have allowed the third-most rebounds and fourth-most points to opponents. On the season, Philadelphia’s defense has surrendered 39.9 PRAs per game to opposing centers, but over the last seven, the team has given up 45.8 PRAs on average.
Davis is in prime position to stuff the stat sheet here against an undersized and inexperienced frontcourt. I expect him to comfortably hit the Over on this one and deliver a fifth straight win for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Neither team has been tremendous against the spread this season. The Lakers are 22-21-1, and the Sixers are 16-28. The Lakers are just 3-5-1 ATS as the away favorite and 9-12-1 on the road overall.
Philly is 5-14-1 at home and 4-6-1 as the home dog. Los Angeles is 6-13 ATS when favored by at least four points, but the team is 13-6 straight up in those situations. The Lakers are just 12-13 ATS as the favorite but 19-6 straight up. I’m not confident in the Lakers winning by more than four points even against a banged-up Sixers team, but I do think they’ll take the win outright, so I’m rolling with the ML pick.
Tyrese Maxey has been on a roll, averaging 30.5 points across his last 10. In that span, he’s scored at least 30 points five times and scored no fewer than 28. With Paul George and Embiid out again, Maxey will continue shooting with impunity while racking up points.
