It's a buy-low spot in the Anthony Davis odds, as he's gone Under the total in four straight games, posting back-to-back games of zero assists. The reaction to these box scores has been dropping his total from 3.5 assists down to 2.5 assists.

This will be Davis' fourth game against the Clippers this season, but I'm going to ignore the game from January 23 and focus more on the game from January 7 for Davis. When the Clippers and Lakers met on January 23, James missed the game for the Lakers, and I believe he is playing on Wednesday. If he doesn't, there will be no disappointment over here. Davis had 10 potential assists in the game without James on January 23.

Let's go back to January 7, though. Davis had one assist on four potential ones against the Clippers. Those aren't eye-catching metrics by any means for an Over 2.5 (-120), but when you watch the film, Davis was involved in a ton of dribble handoff actions for shooters on the Lakers; they just didn't take the shot. The potential assists could easily have been way higher, and you would have a different opinion on this line.

Playing alongside James on January 7 against the Clippers, Davis also made the most passes of anyone on the Lakers with 63, and James was second with 48. The touches were there for Davis against the Clippers with James in the lineup. Davis averages 50.1 passes made per game on the season.

Whether James is in or out for the Lakers, I like this bet on Davis, but I'm pricing it as if James is playing on Wednesday. Davis is projected to have 3.2 assists against the Clippers, which means we can price the Over 2.5 assists at -156, but it is available at DraftKings at -120.

In my best bet of Davis Over 2.5 assists, I talked about how many DHO actions the Lakers ran with Davis to free up some of the 3-point shooters for the Lakers against the Clippers. Well, for that exact reason, I'm pairing the Over 2.5 assists for Davis with the Over 1.5 made 3s for Austin Reaves. 

Reaves was one of those players who was involved in those actions with Davis, so these bets are directly correlated. He isn't on the board while I write this article, but if you can find a Taurean Prince Over made 3s prop, I would also pair this with Davis' assists prop.

I don't expect Rui Hachimura to be running dribble handoffs with Davis, but if the Clippers do decide to send a double team towards Davis, Hachimura could be the one shooting those wide-open 3-pointers off of a rotating defense helping on Davis. The Lakers are going to need Hachimura's shooting to help space the floor on Wednesday against the Clippers.

With the line already moving towards the Lakers by one point, I believe this means that James will play. The market is showing Clippers -3.5 across the board, but make sure to shop around before hitting the button on a side in this game. We are seeing varying juice on the spread across the market.

At FanDuel, the total opened at 236.5 and has fallen two points to 234.5. There's been a little bit of resistance at FanDuel at 234.5, so expect this number to settle pretty close to the 234.5 we are seeing it trade at as of right now. There are a couple of sportsbooks trading the total at 234, but it looks like that number will get bet back up based on some of the movement we have seen.
