Lakers vs Trail Blazers Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today's NBA Game

Toumani Camara will get all the touches he can handle for a short-staffed Trail Blazers team today vs. an equally thin Lakers lineup, and that bodes well for a pair of his prop Overs, per our NBA betting picks.

By the looks of the active rosters for the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers, there’s a chance you might get a call to suit up for Sunday’s season finale.

With Los Angeles locked into the No. 3 seed in the West and Portland playing out a losing campaign, both teams are sitting the majority of their rotation players.

While that might suck for those in the stands, NBA bettors can find value in scouring the scrubs for opportunity. One such player is Blazers forward Toumani Camara, who will get a ton of touches and minutes in this meaningless game.

Here are my best Lakers vs Trail Blazers predictions and NBA picks for April 13.

Lakers vs Trail Blazers prediction

My best bet: Toumani Camara 15+ points/5+ rebounds SGP (+165 at bet365)

My analysis
The Los Angeles Lakers are resting all players of importance, leaving the lineup for this finale down to seven guys. The Portland Trail Blazers don’t bring much to Sunday’s finale either, which means Toumani Camara will see plenty of minutes and a surplus of touches.

Overall, Camara has proven a steady performer for Portland this season. He’s averaging more than 11 points and almost six rebounds a game, logging 34 minutes per outing.

The Lakers’ makeshift rotation doesn’t present the same star power as LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves, so brace yourself from some ugly basketball. With that in mind, rebounding chances will be plentiful for Camara.

His rebound props have bounced between 5.5 Over/Under and 6.5 O/U over the past two weeks, with the former Dayton standout topping those totals just four times in the last nine games.

The milestone markets at bet365 list 5+ rebounds from Camara at -180, carrying a 64% implied probability. Player projections for these final games of the schedule are very tough to tackle, but the available forecasts call for at least six boards from Camara.

Today’s matchup with L.A.’s skeleton crew will lessen the defensive demands from Camara, who is often guarding opponents’ top guns. He’ll get to play a bigger offensive role for Portland and has shown he can score when given the chance.

Camara has posted 15 or more points in eight of his last dozen outings, averaging 14.8 points per game in that span.

Today’s available player projections peg him for 16 points with the ceiling obviously much higher given the circumstances. His current milestone market has 15+ points priced at -150 (60% implied probability).

We’re going to combine those two alternative markets into a same game parlay for Sunday, taking Camara to score 15+ points and haul down 5+ rebounds versus Los Angeles. It’s something he’s down six times in the last 12 games, and those efforts came against teams not benching every player of importance.

Lakers vs Trail Blazers same-game parlay

Toumani Camara 15 + points

Toumani Camara 5+ rebounds

Dalton Knecht 4+ 3-pointers

Camara has scored 15 or more points in eight of his last 12 games and won’t face any pushback from the Lakers’ lineup tonight. He averages more than five rebounds per game and there will be plenty of rebounding chances given the lack of firepower on the floor.

Dalton Knecht has a green light to let if fly from downtown tonight. Expect a lot of 3-point heaves in this meaningless matchup.
