Magic vs Hawks Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today's NBA Game

With the Magic and Hawks set to square off in a Play-In matchup on Tuesday, our NBA betting picks expect both sides to play things close to the vest. Look for Atlanta's reserves to prevail in a low-scoring tilt.

Get set for a preview of Tuesday’s NBA Play-In Tournament matchup when the Orlando Magic meet the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena.

Atlanta has lost two straight to Orlando, but my Magic vs. Hawks predictions expect the Hawks to come out on top today.

Read on as I share my NBA picks for Sunday, April 13.

Magic vs Hawks prediction

My best bet: Hawks -1 (-110 at bet365)

My analysis
Today’s Orlando Magic vs. Atlanta Hawks game may be meaningless for the standings, but the Hawks can turn today’s matchup into a valuable one.

Without rim protector Clint Capela on the floor, Orlando bigs Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner owned Atlanta during the previous two games of the season series. The good news for Atlanta is neither is likely to suit up today.

The Hawks have won three of their previous five but struggled to defend aggressive bigs in the paint in both losses. Orlando thrives in the paint, and if that scoring isn’t as easily available, the Hawks reserves can win this game.

Atlanta will likely rest several regulars as well. If Trae Young does suit up, he’ll probably be limited, but Atlanta has good veteran depth and would like nothing better than to create some momentum ahead of Tuesday’s Play-In matchup at Orlando.

A home victory would knot the season series and give Orlando something to think about heading into Tuesday, and I’m betting the Hawks cover the short number.

Magic vs Hawks same-game parlay

Hawks -1.5

Hawks team total Under 115.5

Under 220.5

Magic players crack the rotation with their defense, and in their last game to impress before the playoffs, expect the Orlando shoes to squeak today.

The Magic stop unit won’t likely be efficient enough to cover the number, but their defense should hold an Atlanta squad that barely scores 117 per night fully healthy to fewer than 116 points.

Orlando must play defense today because they are in trouble offensively without Banchero and Wagner. Atlanta defends relatively well, and the game total shouldn’t come close to 221.
