Best NBA Player Props Today for March 17: Playoff Jimmy Preview

The Warriors have been nearly unstoppable since acquiring Jimmy Butler, and he continues to thrive as Golden State gears up for a playoff run. Expect him to rack up the boards tonight.

The NBA player props world usually gets trickier this time of year, with more and more teams posting lengthy injury lists and focusing on the upcoming draft.

There’s plenty of that across tonight’s 10-game slate, but you don’t have to look far to find the star power, with Luka Doncic, Anthony Edwards, Nikola Jokic, and Steph Curry all in action.

But my top three NBA picks for Monday, March 17 skim over the MVP-tier talent and focus on key men in supporting roles.

NBA player props for March 17

Mikal Bridges Over 17.5 points (-115 at bet365)

The heavy workload for New York Knicks starters continues to be a hot topic, but it was inevitable that Tom Thibodeau would double down on that to navigate Jalen Brunson’s absence.

That seems to be suiting Mikal Bridges just fine, and he’s showing he can carry a bigger offensive burden for the Knicks.

Bridges poured in 33 points on 13-for-21 shooting — including the game-winning triple — in last week’s win over the Portland Trail Blazers and followed that up with 19 points in a tough loss to the Golden State Warriors on the weekend.

I’m picking him to deliver another efficient night here against the reeling Miami Heat, who’ve lost seven in a row. This 17.5 O/U for the Bridges points prop is right around his season average, but he’s been relied upon for more volume as New York redistributes Brunson’s 19 shots a game.

Bridges’ 3-point shooting remains rocky at 35% — and just 26% this month — but he’s finding other ways to get buckets and I’m grabbing the Over here, with the former Brooklyn Net again set to be the No.2 option for New York.

Jimmy Butler Over 5.5 rebounds (-115 at bet365)

The Golden State Warriors are 14-1 with Jimmy Butler on the court since trading for the controversial star, and there’s a growing sense that the Dubs could be a real problem in the playoffs.

It’s arguably Butler’s presence, more than his stats, that elevates the Warriors to the fringes of the championship conversation, but he’s still more than capable of filling the box score when needed — and tonight’s matchup with the Denver Nuggets feels like one of those moments.

With Nikola Jokic and Draymond Green battling for position in the paint, it’s going to be all hands on deck for Golden State on the glass against a huge Denver team. Butler has grabbed 30 rebounds across his last four games, and I like the Over on 5.5 here.

While his season average sits around 5.4, he’s finished with 6+ boards in three of his last four, and a marquee matchup could bring some early glimpses of Playoff Jimmy.

Immanuel Quickley Under 17.5 points (-115 at bet365)

The Toronto Raptors are taking every chance to ease their starters' workloads down the stretch, with backups routinely being thrown into the crunch-time spotlight, and they’re certainly treading carefully with Immanuel Quickley, who’s battled several injuries this season.

Quickley was rested for last night’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, but he figures to return tonight in Phoenix — though, for how long is anyone’s guess. It’s no secret that the Raptors are targeting draft lottery positioning, and that means a heavy dose of Jamal Shead and A.J. Lawson off the bench.

I see Quickley’s minutes staying around the mid-20s, just as we’ve seen with Jakob Poeltl and Scottie Barnes lately, and that makes the Under on 17.5 points an appealing play. Quickley scored 20 points against the Utah Jazz in his last outing but had fallen short of this number in two of his three prior contests.

With no incentive to chase wins, Toronto can afford to take an extended look at rookies and end-of-the-bench options, which will translate to a quieter offensive night for Quickley.
