Raptors vs Kings Prediction, Picks, & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

Don't judge a book by its cover, or, in this case, don't judge an offense by its roster. The Raptors don't have flashy names, but their offense is clicking at an elite rate.

Even though the wins may not be there, the Toronto Raptors are one of the scrappiest teams in the NBA... despite the fact that the roster looks like a meteor has hit it.

It’s the second meeting between these two since Saturday, with Toronto winning in overtime, and my Raptors vs. Kings predictions expect the visitors to eclipse their team total.

Check out my NBA picks for November 6 below.

Raptors vs Kings prediction

My Raptors pick
Raptors team total Over 112.5 (-110 at PointsBet Canada)

My analysis
The Toronto Raptors are coming off another tough loss, dropping a 121-119 decision to the Denver Nuggets on Monday night, with R.J. Barrett missing a game-winning three.

But the Raps easily covered the 11-point spread — their seventh cover in a row.

The simplest answer as to why Toronto is covering so many spreads this season is because this young group is buying into head coach Darko Rajakovic’s high-tempo offensive system predicated on ball movement and high-percentage shots.

Combine that with the fact Barrett is tapping into the best version of himself we have ever seen and Gradey Dick is taking a massive leap, and the Raptors suddenly have a respectable offense — even with Immanuel Quickley and Scottie Barnes sidelined.

Toronto enters this game against the Sacramento Kings ranked first in assist rate and fourth in pace while taking the second-most field goal attempts per game. As a result, the Raps rank fourth in scoring — averaging 119.4 points per game — and 12th in offensive rating.

Sacramento is better defensively than we’ve seen in years past, but isn't elite by any means, ranking 12th in defensive rating and 18th in opponent effective field goal percentage. The Kings also play at a relatively high tempo, ranking 11th in pace. That should mean plenty of possessions tonight.

Since Barrett's return five games ago, the Raptors are averaging 122.2 points per game and haven’t scored fewer than 114 points in regulation.

Raptors vs Kings same-game parlay

Raptors team total Over 112.5

R.J. Barrett Over 5.5 assists

Gradey Dick Over 2.5 threes

Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley may have gotten the big deals from the Raptors this offseason, but it’s R.J. Barret who looks like the leader of this team.

The Maple Mamba has looked like a completely different player since his time with Team Canada in the Olympics this summer and has carried that over into this season.

Barrett is averaging 26.2 points per game which includes him shooting 37.8% from 3-point range on 7.4 attempts. But it’s not just his shooting. He’s also become the Raptors' best playmaker with Immanuel Quickley and Scottie Barnes out, averaging 7.8 assists per game, and I’m not sure if sportsbooks have caught on to that yet.

Barrett has at least six assists in four straight games, so let’s add Over 5.5 assists to this same-game parlay.

Meanwhile, Gradey Dick’s development has been the other exciting thing to watch about this team. He’s scored 25 or more points in four of his last six games, and he’s been red-hot from 3-point range lately.

Dick is 12-for-28 (42.9%) from beyond the arc over his last three outings, hitting at least three treys in each. Perimeter defense is one of Sacramento’s biggest weaknesses, allowing the fourth-most 3-point attempts per game. Let’s add Over 2.5 three for Dick as well.

Raptors vs Kings spread and Over/Under analysis

  • The Raptors opened this matchup as 9.5-point road underogs, and despite their recent cover streak, bettors are still backing the Kings here, moving the line to 11.
  • The Raptors are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games overall and haven't lost by more than 11 points during this streak.
  • The total hit the board at 234, and bettors were quick to jump on the Over, driving the number up to 237.5 as of early Wednesday afternoon.
  • The Raptors offense has been shockingly good, but their defense is what's holding them back. They rank 29th in the NBA in defensive rating. That combination has also made them a great Over bet this season, going 7-1 O/U.

He began at Covers as a news editor and has now done everything under the sun when it comes to content. His work has been seen on TSN, Sportsnet, VSiN, and CBS.

These days Andrew’s betting expertise is focused on his favorite teams – the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors. He’s also an avid college football fan and bettor. He can’t be friends with you if you don’t appreciate a Service Academy Under. You can also call him Covers’ Sixth Man, as he regularly steps up to guest host Before You Bet and our MLB and NCAAF release shows.

The sportsbook where he does the bulk of his betting is bet365 thanks to its numerous prop betting options and competitive odds. His best advice? Find the balance between the numbers and what you see on the playing field. Then find the best price using multiple books. And don’t ask him where the nickname Taco comes from. It’s not an interesting story. Seriously.
