The Toronto Raptors were the ones casting the spells on Sunday night, stealing a win against the Orlando Magic as 7-point road underdogs.

Now, the Raps will try to keep the charmed life going as they go for a second consecutive against the Magic. My Raptors vs. Magic predictions highlight a player prop that will be key for Toronto to pull off another upset.

So check out my NBA picks for this Eastern Conference clash set to tip off at 7:00 pm ET at the Kia Center in Orlando, on Tuesday, March 4.

My analysis

It appears obvious at this point that the Toronto Raptors aren’t going to be able to keep up with the tanks going on in places like Washington or Charlotte.

The Raptors are healthy and have gone 11-11 in their last 22 games, which is a far cry from the team that was 8-31 in the middle of January.

So, what has changed? One, Toronto has been much better at the defensive end of the floor, ranking sixth in defensive rating over this 22-game period. And as I said, they are getting healthy. I'm talking about Immanuel Quickley.

Quickley was so good when he first came to Toronto from the New York Knicks that the Raptors front office signed him to an extension last offseason. But injuries cost IQ the majority of the first half of the season, and some were already questioning that move.

But let me tell you, the Raps are a different team when IQ is cooking. When he is aggressive, this team is much harder to defend. You saw that on Sunday night when he went 8-for-19 from the floor for 24 points in the 104-102 win over the Orlando Magic. He is now averaging 19.9 points while shooting 37.7% from 3-point range over his last nine games.

Now, it will be tough for the Raptors to hold down the Magic for a second straight game on the road, especially since they were a little lucky to pull out that win. (Franz Wagner missed a game-tying layup in the final seconds). However, I like Quickley to put on a similar performance.

The Magic hang their hat on defense, ranking second in the NBA in defensive rating. But their ability to defend the perimeter was dealt a major blow with the announcement that Jalen Suggs would be out for the remainder of the season.

It’s one of the reasons Quickley was so effective in Sunday’s matchup. His point total tonight is at 18.5, but he’s hit the 20-point plateau in six of his last nine games. I’m betting he does it again tonight.

Raptors vs Magic same-game parlay

Immanuel Quickley 20+ Points

RJ Barrett 6+ Rebounds

Under 209.5

The Magic are solid rebounders but an awful shooting team. In fact, they have the second-worst effective field-goal percentage in the NBA season ahead of only the Charlotte Hornets.

That means there are at least some rebounds up for grabs, so I’m adding RJ Barrett Over 5.5 rebounds to this same-game parlay. Barrett averages 6.4 rebounds per game and while he landed on five rebounds in Sunday’s matchup against the Magic, he’s hauled down six or more in three of his last five.

And let’s close this SGP out with the Under 209.5. These teams are playing very well at the defensive end of the floor and this is the same number that Sunday’s matchup closed at.

That game fell a couple buckets short of the total, but if not for a furious attempted comeback by the Magic in the final few minutes, it wouldn’t have been that close. Mix in Orlando’s snail’s pace on offense and we should see another low-scoring matchup on Tuesday.

Who will win Raptors vs Magic?

Score Prediction: Raptors 100, Magic 104

The average combined score of the three games between these teams has been 203.7. The Raptors will put up a fight and cover but upsetting a good team like the Magic twice in a row on their home court is difficult to do.
