My analysis
After a tremendous rookie campaign, Victor Wembanyama has taken another step forward in Year 2. The extraterrestrial is averaging 25.6 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, good for 39.5 PRAs. His season average is slightly below this line, but he’s picked it up as of late.
Across his last 10, Wemby has averaged 29.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, and four assists, good for 42.6 PRAs. He’s hit the Over just four times in that span, but he’s gone for 40 and 41 PRAs in two more games and 39 in another.
Wembanyama enjoyed a productive four games against Nikola Jokic & Co. last season, going for 24 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. He hit the Over in two of those meetings. The Denver Nuggets offer a favorable matchup for the big man, as Denver has allowed the most assists and third-most points to opponents.
The Nuggets have allowed the fourth-fewest rebounds to opponents this season overall, but the matchup looks great for Wemby when broken down by position.
The Nuggets have allowed the sixth-most rebounds to centers this season at nearly 16 per game. With Aaron Gordon out of action again, Denver’s frontcourt is even thinner behind Nikola Jokic and Michael Porter Jr., which positions Wemby favorably to crash the glass.
