The San Antonio Spurs can avenge their Sunday night loss when they face the New Orleans Pelicans for the second-consecutive game in the Big Easy.
Life has been difficult without All-Star Victor Wembanyama, but my Spurs vs. Pelicans predictions expect the Spurs to figure some things out and maybe pull off an upset.
Read on as I share my NBA picks for Tuesday, February 25.

My analysis
The San Antonio Spurs must feel snake-bit.
They lost head coach Gregg Popovich for the season due to health reasons, and last week, San Antonio shut down DPOY frontrunner Victor Wembanyama for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.
San Antonio has gotten by without Coach Pop, but Wembanyama was the main man for everything in San Antonio. He led the team in scoring (24 ppg) and rebounding (11) with nearly four dimes per night.
Wembanyama-type production isn’t currently on the San Antonio bench, which is why the Spurs have scored fewer than 110 points in their last two games and were beaten by the New Orleans Pelicans by 18.
The Spurs did get the better of the Pelicans for most of Sunday’s clash, but they shot the ball poorly from everywhere and failed to clean either end of the glass against an inconsistent New Orleans rebounding side.
San Antonio will shoot better than the 33% from the field and 29% from downtown and won't be outrebounded by 23 as it was on Sunday.
The poor shooting and getting blasted on the glass were the difference in Sunday’s tilt. I expect the Spurs to fight harder on the glass, make a few more triples, and leave Smoothie King Center feeling less “snake bit” after a much-needed victory.
Spurs vs Pelicans same-game parlay
The Spurs will win, but only if they make triples.
New Orleans allows the 28th-most made threes per game, and I like the low 3-point totals for Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes.
Paul shot a miserable 1-for-7 on Sunday with only two made threes in his last 10 attempts from downtown. The former Pelican is shooting 35% this season from long-range, and he’ll knock down 2+, as will Barnes.
Barnes went 3-for-7 from long range Sunday. He’s knocked down 2+ in five of six, and I anticipate Barnes catching fire again against the shaky Pelicans perimeter defense.
