The Suns limp into Wells Fargo Center after a blowout loss to the Pacers, prompting chaotic rumblings within the organization. The Sixers will look to add another win after going 4-2 on their six-game road trip and returning home for the first time since December 23.

My Suns vs. 76ers predictions expect Tyrese Maxey to have a productive scoring performance at home tonight. Read my NBA picks to see why you should take the Over on Maxey’s scoring prop against an exploitable Suns defense.

Suns vs 76ers prediction

My best bet
Tyrese Maxey Over 23.5 points (-120 at bet365)

My analysis

Tyrese Maxey is averaging 25.2 points per game this season, so I’m going to hammer the Over on this modest scoring line. Maxey has hit the Over in better than half of his games, reaching at least 24 points in 15 of 27. He’s scored at least 23 in 18 of 27, good for 66.7% of his appearances.

Maxey went for 32 points at Phoenix when the teams met earlier in the season, and he’s got another phenomenal matchup with them tonight. The Phoenix Suns have allowed the ninth-most points to PGs over their last seven, surrendering 26.3 in that span. Phoenix has also given up the ninth-most 3-pointers to the position at 3.4.

Over the last 10, the Suns have allowed the most made 3-pointers and 10th-highest 3-point percentage. That’s tremendous news for Maxey, who’s hitting a career-best 3.1 3-pointers per game this season. Over his last 12, Maxey has knocked down 3.7 triples at a 39.3% clip.

The Suns sport the eighth-worst defensive rating on the season at 115.4. Phoenix has been even worse defensively across its last 10. In that span, the Suns’ defensive rating is 118, good for third-worst.

Maxey should have no issue hitting the Over against a struggling Suns team, and he’s in an especially favorable position due to Phoenix’s weak perimeter defense.

Suns vs 76ers same-game parlay

Tyrese Maxey Over 23.5 points

76ers moneyline

Over 223.5

NBA reporter Chris B. Haynes announced yesterday that the Suns will replace Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic with Ryan Dunn and Mason Plumlee in the starting five.

The team is in the midst of a four-game skid, and Jimmy Butler trade rumors have reached a fever pitch. Phoenix has dropped seven of eight and struggled tremendously on defense. Now, they’re playing on the road with another new starting five and dealing with the chaos of locker room tension and trade rumors. I’ll take the less noisy home team for the win.

The Philadelphia 76ers have hit the Over in eight of their last 10 games, and the Sixers should have no problem scoring on Phoenix tonight.

To the Suns’ credit, the team has scored at least 224 points in 10 of 13 games with all of Beal, Booker and Durant available. We haven’t seen Beal and Nurkic come off the bench yet, but it’s safe to say the team will have a little fire power with the roster back at full strength. Even if the Suns struggle to score, Philly should put up more than enough points to get the total to 224.
