The faltering Phoenix Suns are running out of time to climb back into the play-in picture, and they’re in a tough spot tonight as they visit the Memphis Grizzlies.

My analysis
The Memphis Grizzlies have their sights set on the No. 2 seed in the West, and it’s their league-leading offense that continues to blow opponents off the court. That spells trouble tonight for the Phoenix Suns, who are 2-8 in their last 10 games and just 11-19 on the road this season.
Though Memphis went 2-3 on last week’s road trip, there’s no reason for panic. The Grizzlies have made FedExForum a fortress this year, posting a 21-6 mark at home, and I’m laying the points with the hosts here in a clash that should play to their strengths.
The Grizzlies are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these teams, and I see that trend continuing, especially with the visitors’ leaky defense. Phoenix has allowed at least 119 points in nine of its past 10 games, with all of the pre-trade deadline speculation seemingly taking a toll on Mike Budenholzer’s men.
Memphis also has a big athleticism edge in this matchup. While the Grizzlies are No. 1 in the NBA in transition points per game (33.8), the Suns are allowing the sixth-most in transition (25), so we should see plenty of Ja Morant leading fast breaks.
The hosts have options for the Kevin Durant and Devin Booker assignments, with Jaren Jackson Jr., Jaylen Wells, and Desmond Bane all feisty competitors, and they beat the Suns in Phoenix earlier this month.
This feels like a matchup for Morant to feast in the paint and Memphis’ deep bench to eventually grind down a Suns team that’s 19-37-1 ATS this year.

Bradley Beal Over 18.5 points
Wells has made some real noise in the Rookie of the Year odds in his 3-and-D role for Memphis, and I like the Over on his points total tonight.
Wells poured in 14 points against the Cavaliers on Sunday, including four triples, and he’s blown past this 8.5 O/U line in three of his last four contests. With the visitors’ regular defensive lapses, I’m picking Wells to walk into enough easy buckets to cash this prop.
I’m also buying into the Bradley Beal revival. He’s averaging 22.8 ppg in February and arrives on the heels of a 30-point effort, on 12-for-15 shooting, in Sunday’s loss to the Raptors.
Back in the Suns’ starting lineup, Beal has the luxury of punishing defenses that overcommit on Durant and Booker, and he’s gone past this 18.5-point line in seven of his last eight outings. In what should be a high-scoring contest, he’s in line for 15 or more field goal attempts.
