Suns vs Rockets Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

Kevin Durant may have reached an exclusive scoring milestone last night, but he'll be in tough vs. the Rockets tonight. Our NBA betting picks will look for Durant to go Under his points prop here.

The Phoenix Suns hit the road to face the Houston Rockets one night after watching Kevin Durant become the eighth man in the history of the NBA to score 30,000 points.

Despite Durant’s 34-point, history-making night, my Suns vs. Rockets predictions don’t expect the future Hall of Famer to have a similar scoring night against Houston.

Read on as I share my free NBA picks for Wednesday, February 12.

Suns vs Rockets prediction

My best bet
Kevin Durant Under 25.5 points (-120 at bet365)

My analysis
Phoenix Suns All-Star forward Kevin Durant joined an elite club on Tuesday night, becoming only the eighth man in NBA history to score 30,000 points. Durant dropped 34 points in 43 minutes last night in the Suns' 119-112 home loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The former Texas Longhorn and the Suns hit the road for a tough Western Conference clash with the defensive-minded Houston Rockets. The 36-year-old future Naismith enshrinee has played 40+ minutes in four of his past six, and he’s in for a tough, physical matchup tonight.

Durant knocks down 39% of his five triple attempts and averages 26 points per away matchup. According to our prop projections, Houston allows only 26% from downtown to starting small forwards, and I’m betting Durant doesn’t clear his scoring prop.

The Rockets play slowly and defend the perimeter. Durant has had some big nights from downtown during his past 10 games, but Houston is too stingy from beyond the arc.

Durant will have difficulty scoring 26+ points against Houston without the triples. I expect Houston to get physical with the newest member of the 30K club and chase him off the arc, helping the Under cash on this prop.

Suns vs Rockets same-game parlay

Kevin Durant Under 25.5 points

Kevin Durant Over 3.5 assists

Rockets moneyline

Durant is a willing passer, and I expect he’ll be forced to become a playmaker tonight.

Durant has dished 3.9 dimes per game across his past 10. He’s notched 4+ in four of his previous seven and meets a Houston stop unit allowing 21+ assists a night at Toyota Center.

Durant’s dishing likely won’t help beat the Rockets. Phoenix is 10-16 SU as the visitor and meets a Houston side that is 16-8 at Toyota Center.
