Warriors vs 76ers Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

Former Philadelphia forward Jimmy Butler has a long history with the 76ers, and he will remind Philly once again why they should have kept him over Tobias Harris.

The Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks will face off at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday night, with Stephen Curry going up against Tyrese Maxey. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET, and the game will air on ABC.

"Tobias Harris over me!" Nobody will be more excited to celebrate the downfall of the Philadelphia 76ers than Jimmy Butler, which is why he is the focal point of our best bet on Saturday.

Find out why I’m backing Jimmy Butler in my NBA picks for Warriors vs. 76ers predictions on Saturday, March 1.

Warriors vs 76ers prediction

My best bet
Jimmy Butler Over 17.5 points (-125 at bet365)

My analysis

Joel Embiid is out for the season with a knee injury, and the 76ers find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to the Play-In Tournament in the Eastern Conference. The Philadelphia 76ers haven't been able to catch the Brooklyn Nets or the Chicago Bulls in the standings, and I'm not even sure if those teams actually want to make the playoffs.

Nobody will be more excited to dance on the 76ers’ grave in an ABC primetime game on national television than Butler. We all remember the infamous "Tobias Harris over me" quote from Golden State Warriors forward  Jimmy Butler after he eliminated the 76ers in the NBA Playoffs as a member of the Miami Heat.

He was referring to the front office’s decision to pay Harris instead of him when he was a member of the 76ers.

The narrative is there for Butler, but the basketball matchups are also very much in his favor to go Over his points total. With Embiid out, the 76ers lack rim protection on the defensive end.

The undersized Guerschon Yabusele will be the starting center, with Andre Drummond backing him up.

Butler loves to operate in the mid-range and in the post for the majority of his buckets. Working in tandem with Stephen Curry should provide him with plenty of space to attack an undersized frontcourt.

Not only are the 76ers lacking rim protection to slow down Butler once he gets into the paint, but Draymond Green will also be able to pull their bigs away from the rim with the actions the Warriors are running with Green, Curry, and Butler.

Butler is projected to score 19.8 points on Saturday against the 76ers, which allows us to price the Over 17.5 at -155, but it's available at bet365 at -125.

Warriors vs 76ers same-game parlay

Jimmy Butler 25+ points

Draymond Green 7+ assists

Golden State Warriors Moneyline

As always, if you're looking to take a swing with an SGP, let's go after a bigger plus price. For that reason, I'm using Butler to score 25+ points in the SGP instead of the standard Over 17.5 points (-125), which is currently available at bet365.

Butler really falls into that Luka Doncic category for me—he's a straight-up assassin on the basketball court and takes things personally.

With an ABC primetime game on this kind of stage, I feel very comfortable targeting the alternate total, especially considering we have an edge on the standard line.

I'm pairing Butler 25+ points with Draymond Green to record 7+ assists because I expect several of Green's assists to go directly to Butler.

The Warriors will use Green in multiple actions as a hub to facilitate easy buckets for Butler on the interior or open jump shots for Curry on the perimeter.

For the final leg of the parlay, give me the Warriors on the moneyline. The 76ers showed some life in a comeback against the New York Knicks in their last outing, but at the end of the day, this team is cooked—and they know it.

The Warriors opened as a 6.5-point favorite, and I have them priced as 8-point favorites, so I'm including the moneyline as the final leg.

  • The Warriors opened as 6.5-point favorites, and the line has moved to Warriors -8.
  • I completely agree with this movement and believe Warriors -8 is the correct number.
  • The total has risen from 225 to 226.5.
  • I expect it to continue trending toward the Over and potentially reach 227.5.
