My analysis
These two teams met back in late January in Tucson. The Arizona Wildcats won that game in overtime in a fast-paced game with plenty of shots going up.
I think the pace is likely to continue over to this second matchup as well.
The Wildcats rank 54th in field goal attempts, 310th in field goal attempts allowed, and 53rd in possessions per game. They are also 51st in KenPom’s adjusted tempo.
Meanwhile, the Iowa State Cyclones rank 96th in possessions per game and 101st in adjusted tempo.
With a total of 131 shots in the last game and 74 combined misses, there were plenty of rebounding opportunities.
Both teams are good rebounding teams, with the Wildcats ranked 11th in rebounding percentage and the Cyclones ranked 37th.
Arizona had 36 rebounds, and Iowa State had 35 rebounds in the last matchup.
The big advantage for the Cyclones could be on the offensive glass. The Wildcats rank 245th in offensive boards allowed despite being ranked 72nd in total rebounds allowed.
The Cyclones had 11 offensive boards in the last matchup. Two of those came from guard Tamin Lipsey.
Tamin Lipsey averages 3.1 rebounds per game in Big 12 play and 1.0 offensive boards per game.
He had four rebounds in the last matchup and has gotten at least four rebounds in four of his last five games and seven of his 17 Big 12 games.
He also had at least one offensive board in 11 of those 17 conference games.
The biggest strength for the Iowa State defense is their two-point defense and the Wildcats rely heavily on scoring from inside the arc.
The opportunity for both offensive and defensive boards will be there for Lipsey.
I like his odds of getting to at least four in another game and for him to stay hot in that category.

They have a similar offense to Arizona but a much better defense.
Finally, I am going to add Iowa State forward Milan Momcilovic to make at least two threes.
