Mackey Arena will be rocking when the No. 10 Purdue Boilermakers host the Indiana Hoosiers in a fierce Big 10 rivalry game.
My Indiana vs. Purdue predictions take advantage of a Hoosiers side that has lost four of five and is struggling at both ends of the floor despite a talented roster.

My analysis
The wheels have come off a bit in conference play for the Indiana Hoosiers, and head coach Mike Woodson’s seat couldn’t be much hotter.
The Hoosiers' inability to consistently find points at the offensive end has been their biggest issue. Over their last five games, the Hoosiers boast an eFG% of just 47.2%, while opponents have registered a 55.7% mark.
Things have been particularly bad away from home. Among the 17 teams in the Big 10, Indiana ranks dead last in eFG% and 2-point percentage on the road. The Hoosiers have also had their shots blocked at the second-highest rate in conference play and have the third-worst percentage from the charity stripe on the road.
Scoring has not been an issue for Purdue. The Boilermakers are ranked second in the conference and 12th nationally in eFG%, shooting 58% from inside the arc in Big 10 play.
Playing at Mackey Arena, they’ve gotten even better performances. Purdue leads the conference in adjusted efficiency, eFG%, and 3-point shooting on their home court, and its 23.4% turnover rate on defense also paces the conference.
Indiana’s allowing opponents to post a 57.9% eFG away from home in conference play. The Hoosiers are turning the ball over nearly 19% of their possessions in hostile environments, and the Boilermakers faithful would love nothing more than to see their team compound Woodson’s misery.
Purdue isn’t perfect defensively, struggling at times with pick-and-roll defense. But Indiana can’t hit outside shots consistently, especially away from home, and the Boilermakers have the fourth-best 3-point defense in the conference.
Matt Painter won’t call off the dogs against a hated rival, so I have zero fear of a back-door cover.
Indiana vs Purdue same-game parlay (SGP)
Purdue is averaging 36.2 points per game prior to halftime, while Indiana’s first-half defense is one of the worst in the nation, with opponents averaging 36.5 points.
The Boilermakers have scored at least 41 first-half points in all four home games in conference play and will again here.
While he’s only making 32.5% of his outside shots on the road, Fletcher Loyer has been red-hot at Mackey Arena. He’s connecting on 54.1% of his 3-point attempts in front of the home fans and is fresh off an 18-point outing against Michigan where he connected on five of his 10 outside shots.
He’s made at least three triples in five of his last eight home games and has made five or more in two of his last three home starts.
