The home stretch of the ACC schedule tips off tonight when the North Carolina Tar Heels visit the Clemson Tigers inside Littlejohn Coliseum at 7 p.m. ET.

Clemson is coming off a big win over Duke, pumping up its place in the national rankings and adding a resume win to its NCAA portfolio. My North Carolina vs. Clemson predictions like the Tigers to maul another ACC blue blood, with UNC struggling away from Chapel Hill.

Here are my best college basketball picks for North Carolina vs. Clemson on Monday, February 10 on ESPN.

North Carolina vs Clemson prediction

My best bet
Clemson -5.5 (-110 at bet365)

My analysis
The Clemson Tigers have protected Littlejohn Coliseum this season, owning a 12-2 straight-up mark at home. Clemson runs the risk of a letdown spot tonight after a thrilling 77-71 win over Duke on the weekend, but the North Carolina Tar Heels could help them avoid a flat spot.

UNC has been wretched away from Chapel Hill, lugging a 3-5 SU record and a 2-5-1 against-the-spread mark as visitors into this important ACC matchup.

The Tar Heels have lost three straight road stops due to a lack of offensive consistency, putting up scores of 70, 66, and 65 points in that span. On the season, North Carolina sees its scoring drop almost 10 points when playing the role of visitor (76.8 points per road game).

Clemson is one of the best two-way teams in the conference, sitting 41st in KenPom’s advanced defensive rating while checking foes to around 67 points per contest. The Tigers have traded blows with the big boys this year, not only slowing down the Blue Devils but also putting the clamps on Kentucky back in December.

Helping that defense is an offensive attack that plays a controlled tempo and extends possessions deep into the shot clock. Clemson’s pace will stick an up-tempo UNC team in the sand and the Tigers’ ability to take care of the ball won’t allow for easy buckets off turnovers.

The Tar Heels thrive in transition and their quick pace promotes a lot of shooting. Clemson will force UNC into a halfcourt set, drag those possessions on, and make the Heels settle for longer shots with the clock winding down.

Game projections call for a Clemson win with the margin ranging from 5.9 to 7.0 points. I’ll take the hot home team against a UNC squad unable to fight for big conference wins on the road.

North Carolina vs Clemson same-game parlay (SGP)

Clemson -5.5

Ian Jackson 2+ threes

Chase Hunter 15+ points

The Tigers aren’t afraid of the ACC’s big boys and UNC hasn't gotten right on the road.

With the Tigers pushing UNC to the perimeter, Ian Jackson will let it fly from deep as the shot clock ticks down.

Chase Hunter is projected for more than 18 points after a quiet night against the Blue Devils.
